Hachi Japanese Grill Express — Restaurant in Florida

I am often disappointed when I read reviews for restaurants that I love. Hachi is a family favorite and my son still calls chicken or beef I cook at home Hachi Chicken. I love their food and have never had a bad meal from them. It is obvious how much they care about their food and their service, which is always a welcome respite for dining in or to go. I wish she would maybe cook some foods that are more related to the part of the country her family is from. Maybe once a month cook something over a fire? Anyway we Love Hachi and if you have a picky eater like my son they will like the food as well. Great, fresh, ingredients with always tender beef or chicken. We ate here without reading the reviews. This was the worst experience we've had out in a very long time. When we entered the restaurant there were more dirty tables than tables with customers. We waited several minutes to be seated. We got our own menus and were served drinks in about 45minutes. The food wait was over an hour. The young men working the restaurant could not speak english.The portions were generous and the presentation was beautiful but their sauces each had a strange twist that was not appetizing. It was possibly not fresh. The next morning both my wife and I had upset stomachs and all of the fun that comes with that. We would not give this place another try. We do not recommend...

I tried this restaurant today, and it was fantastic. I got the miso soup, gyoza, and the Hachi special entree. All were great. The miso soup seemed like it wasn't made with chicken broth, as some are, and had a little bit of tofu, so it may well be suitable for vegetarians/vegans--I didn't check. Everything was fresh, the grill is within sight, so you can watch them make it if you want. The Hachi special is described as spicy marinaded, and it was a very flavorful spicy, not just hot spicy.
