First, let me say this is the first time I have been here I didn’t realize they closed at 1:30 and I got here at 1:00 so that’s on me. My Server was Colleen very nice lady. It took 10 minutes to place my order because she was giving out the checks for customers that were leaving ok on that I was just worried about being able to order and eat and be out by 130 Because I am not a fast eater. I asked Colleen if I would have enough time to order and eat my food since they close at 1:30? She said yes you’ll be fine. I said wonderful. I got my food quickly and It was Absolutely delicious..meat lovers omelette hash browns with a side of sausage gravy yummy! Now the reason I gave a four star for the atmosphere is Because there were still people in the restaurant that we’re eating and one of the waitresses, walked past my table, going back to the kitchen and said kind of loudly” It’s almost 130 And we can leave” OK, that’s great to know, but it’s not something that I feel should have been said loud enough for customers to hear it and some customers were looking at their watches and shaking their heads. Then 5 minutes later, a male in the back yells “No more Orders” I looked at my watch. It was 1:20 OK, I get that but you don’t have to shout it out so everybody hears it and again customers starts looking at their watches shaking their heads …One of the waitresses said “ who died and made him boss” lol The same waitress who yelled the first time yells from the back and says “ ok people it’s 1:30 “ so I guess she was in a round about way letting the few of us that were still eating it’s time to finish up so she can get out of here. Ok I understand that too. She’s probably has been there since they opened at 7 AM. I’m just saying sometimes you don’t have to yell out things so your customers can hear them and it’s kind of rude..There were no other customers walking in the door wanting to eat And the rest of us were not ordering anymore extras. Will I return yes and hopefully I will get Colleen and I will definitely arrive earlier …again that was on me! What time did I finish pay and leave 1:40. They have a great menu lots of different breakfasts and lunch options to choose from. So they get 5...

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. This was such a bad experience. Not only because the atmosphere and the rudeness of the waitress but the food was also pretty shitty. Perhaps this is one of those “whites only” restaurants and that’s why we weren’t treated well but for our first time this was horrible and we will not be returning nor do we recommend this place. The waitress was not attentive at all. When I ordered my shrimp and grits I told her I want shelled/country eggs. I don’t want that liquid stuff from the plastic bag. I want real eggs cracked and scramble them. As you can see from the video these are not real eggs. I told her these are not shelled eggs and to take them Back and give me real eggs and she stood there arguing with me about how it was real eggs. I never got the eggs. The food was tasteless. The shrimp had no seasoning and the grits even worse. My wife’s breakfast was also horrible. Worst biscuits and gravy she’s ever had. The waitress came back once and not was to bring the check and she smelled something horrid of cigarettes and we are both non-smokers so the smell was just horrid. Food was trash, service was trash, atmosphere was trash. If you are a person of color, do not go here. Everyone will be looking at you like, “what are y’all doing here. Y’all don’t belong here.” WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS...

I'm new in town and my parents and I were looking for the local diner with a good hearty breakfast. Flo had to be around here somewhere. There are a few to choose from but I decided on Hen House and we were pickled tink to find it. Look, the general rule of thumb when you're looking for a good diner is ; It's not always about the decor or how fancy smanschy the place is, it's about the grub and the hospitality. Our lady waiter was sweet and attentive, but don't underestimate her collected demeanor. Complain once about the coffee and after the death stare you're gettin decaf for your next refill honey. The food set before me was was lip smackin'' thigh slappin' deeeelicious. I scarfed down the crispy country fried steak and the perfectly prepared, oh so priceless eggs. The CFS was covered with the most delightful cream de sausage blend. I mean, what's better than crispy meat topped with creamy meat!? My mom had the grits bowl which she sucked down like a sow in an eating contest and my dad had a good ol heart healthy diner cheeseburger which he said he would gladly pay them later for some reason. Overall, this is a good ol side of the road diner with no frills but damn good grub so whoever says they don't like it can kiss my southern...

Awesome spot for quality food and excellent service. Had brunch one day and breakfast another. Very broad selection of dishes. It is clearly a favorite spot for locals as quite a few times the servers caught up with some regulars, and the regulars all had their own favorite dishes, so that shows they excel across the menu. The coffee is very good and regularly brewed so always hot. If I lived close enough, I would be working my way through the menu. But also dress sizes lol. The eggs Benedict ate solid choices, the fruit is very tasty, and the sandwich is large so good to take half home for another munch later. The French onion soup was delicious- lots of cheese and packed with flavor. Onion petals are fried to perfection!

The Hen House feels like being at mom's house and having her cook you breakfast. It's that quaint and warm. The servers were all wonderful. But, like mom's breakfast, it's not extraordinary culinary creations. It's good, comfort food. So, as a restaurant, it's hard to give them a high score on the food. What we got, we could make at home for much less. If you're going to Hen House, you're going because you enjoy the hospitality, not the cooking. Don't let that make you think the food was bad. It wasn't. It just wasn't what you'd expect from a place that specializes in breakfast foods.
