Worst hiring staff/denied a job due to race: I was recommended to apply here by a friend at the end of September, (on the 27th of September to be exact) so I submitted my paper application to the store early October. I called a total of 3 times just to land a interview with the hiring manager. Finally I went in for my interview on the 29th of October (so my application was in circuit for almost a month by now) and the guy pulled me aside to a table to review my application. I wasn’t asked any questions about my prior history, what kind of worker I am, or anything about my work ethics and my opinions on the business. The response I got was that there was nothing wrong with my application BUT they just hired 3 other people to work as insiders. I’m not sure how my application stays in circuit for almost a month but these 3 fine individuals are hired in what may have been less than a week. I was told to call back on that Saturday between 2 and 4pm so I called at 3:40pm. The conversation was very brief just like the interview and I was told that I would receive a phone call from a manager in the next few days. A few days pass so I called on Tuesday November 6th but was told that there where no hiring managers in at the moment so I was told to call tomorrow at 12pm. I called today at 12pm to see if this job was even worth waiting out for just to find out that the hiring manager didn’t even tell me the requirements for the only open job I was offered after he hired the 3 others as insiders which eliminated the insider postition I was originally applying for. One observation that can be made about this hungry howies is that it’s workers are predominantly African American and in all my time I’ve spent in the restaurant, I’ve only seen 2 white people working behind the counter or in the kitchen. I am a white male so I just can’t see any other label but discrimination and bias. I’ve been discriminated against previously at my job because I was the only male worker at a daycare so I know it exists in the world. Read moreGood afternoon, once again I am feeling completely let down by my whole Hungry Howie's experience. I had reiterated multiple times to the staff at the store that I was on my way to my hotel after being in the emergency room and having had wrecked my vehicle earlier that day. This morning I received a phone call back from the general manager of the store, Karen. I was told that her investigation completed and that she is going to side with her staff and the way that I was treated and for following proper Hungry Howie's policies. Once again the element of customer service is missing from all of my transactions with Karen and the employees at her store. Not only was I falsely accused of being someone who had caused problems at her store before and threatened to have my order not delivered and money not refunded. I was also told that I was incorrect in the fact that I received cold food when I finally did arrange a delivery from her store. Her shift supervisor employees all have a can don't attitude and it's highly discouraging especially from someone who works in the customer service industry. The way that I was made to feel and have been treated as a customer is absolutely out of line, morally repugnant and just overall bad business. I would like a refund for the full amount plus additional compensation at this time because it's now taking me almost 5 hours file a complaint and receive resolution. This seems like a situation of the fox guarding the hen house, and these strained times we should all be trying to uplift, support and be good to one another. Read moreI deliver for DoorDash and I had a delivery and to collect $52.27 from the customer. The customer said they had already paid for the order so I contacted customer support and after waiting to finally get ahold of customer support I kept being put on hold so they could confirm with Hungry Howies if the customer paid already or not but finally they confirmed and gave the order to the customer but DoorDash still took the $52.27 from my DoorDash account. I called customer support back and after waiting another 30 minutes they told me the restaurant was now saying the order wasn't paid for. I then rushed back to the restaurant and asked to speak with the manager, the manager wouldn't even speak with me and he had the counter person speak with me. The counter person said that's not right and they would fix it so he went back to speak with the manager and he came back saying they weren't going to help me now and that DoorDash needed to fix it. The manager is very unprofessional and shouldn't be working as manager and that store really put me in a bind because I'm going through a really hard time after losing my job and that was the money I was going to use to pay for my hotel room tonight.
