Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Florida

Called ahead to place an order and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived a few minutes early and paid right away. I witnessed the staff all working with food, yet no gloves or hand washing. One man was talking on his phone, while on speakerphone, holding it with one hand and preparing food with the other. Never washed his hands. I asked Abby, who took the order over the phone and took my payment if he was actually making food while touching his cell phone. She did not deny it, but when I asked him he denied it profusely and was very unprofessional. I asked for the manager, to which he replied he was the manager. I explained my concerns over the cleanliness and safety of the food prep. He was rude and defensive, saying that everything is automated, button controls and they don't touch the food. I told him I am also Food Service Certified and I know better. The conversation continued to escalate as he then told me I should "not be so judgemental while wearing a cross" around my neck, and said that "a true Christian wouldn't act like that." I informed him of what it means to be a Christian, as I am not afraid to tell anyone the Truth! This whole time my food should have been ready and it actually took 15 minutes longer than estimated. I told him that this was my first and last time ordering from this location. We order from the one in Venice every week, and that location is great! Nokomis should really take some training from Venice.

Save yourself a headache and drive 10 minutes further to try a different location. OR maybe this Nokomis location will have more help...

Ordered a large pepperoni pizza and cheesy bread. It got here an hour and a half later, which was fine but when we received our order the 2 garlic sauces we ordered was not there. Called the Hungry Howies and told the female that answered the phone and put me on hold and never picked back up. I then called back and a male answered the phone and I told him what happened, he then said we credited your account. I told him that we ordered the garlic butter sauce and we lived in walking distance to the location and would like what we ordered, he then said ok and hung up on me. I called back and the original female answered the phone and she said again that they credited my account and that they wasn’t coming back out to complete our order. I am not posting about their mistake but I am posting about the terrible customer service. I’ve ordered from here for years and know a lot of people around here. We will never order from here again. Called 15 minutes prior to going to get my order (15 minutes is a typical wait time) and I waited an additional 15 minutes to get my order all this waiting and i start looking around I could see the sink where no paper towels or soap was.. so I definitely started watching closer couldn't see nothing behind the big wall at the counter except this dude's head I finally see him come out to take another order over the phone.. he wasn't wearing gloves nor did I see him discard any when he went to answer the phone.. I watched him bare handed answer that phone bare handed touch the POS system and bear handed open the door handle to the walk in .. a couple seconds later I watch him BARE HAND A PIZZA OUT OF THE PAN THAT I KNOW WAS MY ORDER because I was still waiting for it to be prepared.
