We've been customers of this restaurant for over 20 years, and since the pandemic, when most of its employees stopped working, this place has been in steep decline. We arrived today around 7:20 a.m. There were hardly any customers, and we had to ask if they were open because the waiters looked at us as if it wasn't time to serve us yet. We sat on a table, asked a waitress if she could serve us, and she said she would as soon as she got her things sorted. I've worked in customer service in this country for over 20 years and had never heard of anything like this. When five minutes passed without anyone coming to serve us, we moved to the counter, where no one served us either, and we sat there for almost five more minutes. Annoyed, I stood up and asked the same waitress as before why no one was serving us, that we had a doctor's appointment and needed to have breakfast and leave quickly, and that wherever we sat, we were ignored. At this point, the waitress told me she would take my order immediately, which she did in front of me and I even heard her telling the kitchen to hurry up because we needed to leave. The food came very quickly, the waitress served us very correctly and professionally, which we appreciated when she served us. The milk was watery and the croquettes lacked their usual flavor. The bread was generously buttered, just as we requested, and it was delicious. In the end, they brought us the check promptly so we could leave as we wished, and we were grateful for that. In my humble opinion, the manager should be aware that if they open the establishment at 7:00 a.m., the employees should be ready to serve customers without objections. They must also ensure that the food maintains the same standards as before, because long-time customers notice the difference in quality for the worse.

During my recent visit to Islas Canarias Restaurant in Miami, I had a series of mixed feelings about the experience. On one hand, I was delighted to find that their croquettes de jamón (ham croquettes) have maintained their excellent taste over the years. These little delights are as amazing as ever, providing a comforting sense of consistency and quality. However, the main courses we ordered were somewhat disappointing. My Vaca frita, although flavorful, turned out to be tough and not as tender as I had hoped. It seemed overcooked, which took away from the overall enjoyment of the dish. Similarly, my wife’s fish, specifically kingfish, was unfortunately old and hard. This was quite surprising as kingfish, known for its soft texture and subtle flavors, didn't live up to our expectations or its usual culinary standards. That said, the other items we tried were pleasant, which somewhat balanced out our dining experience. But it's undeniable that the main courses, crucial to any meal, were a letdown. I sincerely hope Islas Canarias takes this feedback into account. An improvement in the preparation of their main dishes could significantly enhance the dining experience, aligning it with the high standards set by their renowned croquettes.

We all know about this part for years has been a one of a kind, traditional Latin restaurant provides a Cuban style service with someone that receives you in the door sits in the table. You’re welcome by your waiter and bosed boy who so few water and bring you fresh cut Cuban bread with butter after that the waiter approaches you and offers you drinks and if you want any appetizers to start with. I went for croquetas de jamon. This is the top of the line item and the reason why 70% of the customers they get go there for. They have a steak habanero full of fries on top that you can combine with white rice, black beans and sweet plantains that is incredible they also have, a fish fillet I had last time I went with some salad that was incredible. I heard several times that you should have their oxtail with white rice and sweet plantains. There is also a very good plate from this place. I wasn’t this place we rented the back room and did my cousins party, we had a lot of fun. The service was great. The food was great. They bring a dancer to dance for my cousin. Had a great experience that day. We did this event at this fabulous spot right behind the restaurant. Also a very convenient thing they have is that if you are in a run You can go by the drive-true And grab something to go or even faster you can call the restaurant order whatever you guys want to eat and pick up at la ventanita. You not missed your opportunity if you are around I’m going to this great place for so many years. I’ve been doing to all Miami the best...

This place used to be good years ago but recently (not sure if because of the pandemic) its service and food quality has gone downhill. Went with family (total of 4) last night around 10pm (restaurant closes at 11pm) first impression; the old lady at the door that finds you the table was rude, when I told her how many we were she rolled her eyes very unprofessional, then the waiter was the worst, the guy was pretty much rushing us to make the orders since he wanted to leave, everything we wanted to order from the menu "they didn't have it anymore" which I think it actually translates to "we are too lazy to cook this now just order something that can be done quick", my 12 year old niece eats slow, he almost grabs the plate away from her without her even finishing, then when bringing the check he stayed closed to me looking at how much tip I was going to leave which made me feel uncomfortable, additionally the people on the table next to us called the manager while we were there because their order was wrong, that's how bad the service was, we also complained to the waiter he said he's only been working there for 2 weeks. I understand they were about to close in 1 hour, but that's no excuse to provide a poor service and pretty much try to rush you out. Service aside, food wasn't that good either, I ordered beefy stuffed sweet potato, barely any beef inside the sweet potato...think this was my last visit to this place, sadly since I used to love it...
