No acknowledgement at all! Would be nice to feel more welcome in a small town. Maybe next time. Well I returned on Sunday. I got the gravy and biscuits on recommendation. They were horrible! It took 10 mins to get waited on because the server was sitting a Booth with friends taking their order and just catching up. Once I'm served yuck. Even the waitress said 'your not to fond of that huh' I politely said no and she offered a partial reduction of the check (1 couldn't even eat a 1/4). Then I get up to pay (mind you in this tiny area that is made for walking to your seat, waitress food pick up, waiting for a seat, to-go and cashier all in one). The lady ahead sees me and says "oh they don't take cards ". I said I guess I missed the sign and I just stood there. Finally it was my turn and the lady said "are you ready? " I said no I have a card I'm sorry I must have missed the sign. She said no it's been like that 22 years so... I was floored, I'm from out of town, I came here on a recommendation from their local patrons. How was I suppose to know? So she pointed me to this bar next door for the ATM. Upon returning it took an additional 10 mins of waiting to get back to the register because of the waiting line. While standing their I finally noticed, 1 cook on a small grill with what had to be 12-13 year old "bar back" who was washing the dishes and restocking them for this cook. The same area there is a rolling tray of assorted meats for breakfast and lunch sitting beside him not in a cooler. Then there is the coke machine in the same area and the cash register. Now I'm sure back in the day this place would have been awesome but in today I think expanding, hiring trained staff and have a kitchen that is maintained is a must. This isn't the place for tourist. Only locals that obviously don't know what true good food is. Really sad, wish the owners well on their endeavors but once the older locals pass they may not last...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Joe's Cafe in Lehigh Acres, Florida, and I have to say, it was an amazing experience! This small, family-owned restaurant specializes in breakfast, and they truly do it right!
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly and welcoming staff, who made me feel right at home. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with comfortable seating and a warm, welcoming vibe.
But the real star of the show was the food! Every dish was expertly prepared and incredibly delicious. I had the pleasure of trying several different breakfast items, and each one was better than the last. The pancakes were light and fluffy, the eggs were cooked to perfection, and the bacon was crispy and flavorful.
The service was excellent as well. The staff were quick to refill drinks, clear plates, and offer suggestions for dishes that would best suit my tastes. They were all so friendly and welcoming, and it was clear that they take great pride in their work.
Overall, my experience at Joe's Cafe was fantastic. The food was amazing, the service was excellent, and the family-owned atmosphere made for a truly enjoyable dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a delicious breakfast in a warm and welcoming environment.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a top-notch breakfast experience in Lehigh Acres, then look no further than Joe's Cafe. Read moreMy family and I live in the area and we are attempting to have Sunday breakfast at different locations; starting a tradition. Well, neither of us have been to Joe’s for any food previously, this expedition was our first attempt. The first thing a new customer needs to know is, they do not take credit or debit cards, cash only. This was a minor inconvenience because I had to run to the bank to pay the bill (I did not feel like washing dishes all day). When you enter, do not expect to be seated, it is everyone for themselves; this is where the inconvenience ends. The menu looks typical for a small diner (I mean small, 10 tables of less), but the prices are reasonable. This is truly home cooked food, at least the breakfast was. Pancakes for the kid were huge, we were warned to order only one, but he wanted two with smoked sausage. The wife had a wrap (I forget what kind of meat), it was a value at the price. I order sausage and biscuits, two eggs sunny side up and very lightly cooked, has browns, and rye toast. We drank iced tea and coffee. The portions were large and we ended up taking food home. The food was cooked with care and met our expectations. The bill was about $26.00 minus tip. The service was very good and the waitress an expert on the menue, if you do not know, she will recommend. This is a nice, quant, little hole in the wall with local...
