I am part of a group of retired Collier County public servants. We meet weekly at different restaurants in the community. This week there were only 8 of us and we met at Joe’s Diner on Airport Road in East Naples. When we initially ordered the food I was skipped, okay honest mistake. I got her attention and ordered a “Joe’s Chicken Breast Sandwich”. I asked the server if it came with mayo and she said yes. A little while after everyone else had received their order she brought out a plate with fries, lettuce, pickles and a chicken breast with no bun. She explained that they were waiting on a bun. As everyone else was finishing their meal the server sat down a plate with some sort of flat bread on it that was apparently my “bun”. I told her that there was no mayo so she brought out a small container of it. Since the rest of my group was paying their bills and my chicken was cold, I asked for a to-go box. Two or three of our group asked her about the toast that they were supposed to get and were asked to be patient since there was only one cook in the kitchen. I understand that with the shortage of help she was probably frustrated but she was treating us like we were a big inconvenience in her life. When I received my bill I found that I was charged fifty cents for the mayo that I was told came with the sandwich. I am not concerned about the cost but I am bothered that I was not told that I was being charged for an item that is commonly free. I asked her why I was being charged for the item and she just said that I asked for it. I tried to explain that she told me that it came with the sandwich but she ignored me. Those of us at the table joked that we were shocked that we were not being charged for the ketchup and salt & pepper. This incident brought back a memory from when we met at this same restaurant on September 1st. The server asked our group if this was going to be separate checks and we said yes. She muttered, “figures”, and proceeded to take our orders. I was bothered by it but just assumed that she was probably having a bad day. Our group will be removing this restaurant from our rotation of meeting locations and all present agreed that we would not be coming back as...

Read moreThe service was really bad last time we came so it took us a year before we returned. We decided to give them another chance and wish we didn’t. We were told we couldn’t order burgers until after 12:00 (it was 11:50) so we ordered breakfast. We didn’t get our food until 40 mins later and when we did half our party got their food and the other meal wasn’t dropped off for another ten minutes. When it arrived the cold food was hot and the hot food cold. We complained and the blond waitress was so rude and not accommodating and argued that it was fine that the food didn’t come out together. We ended up not eating and paying for uneditable food. We asked for separate checks and were given a different tables bill. Oh and to top it off we watched butter and jam fall on the floor and then pick it up and serve it on someone’s plate.
I am beyond grossed out and will...
