L&R Fish Market — Restaurant in Florida

Took a chance based off these reviews and had my husband go by today to pick up some salmon. He said the guy there was super nice, attentive and helpful. It’s a tiny little local market with some quality fish. I’m super picky on fish especially now that I’m pregnant. One of our favorite dishes is my husbands French grandmothers salmon. It’s super simple and takes on the flavor of the veggies on top but one poor quality filet ruins the entire dish. We learned that lesson after getting salmon from Publix. The salmon from this place was PHENOMENAL!! Enough so where I immediately texted my pescatarian sister in law whose been looking for a solid fish market for some time. The salmon was thick, perfectly flakey and not even the slightest odor or taste of foul fish. It went down like butter. He skinned the filet for us and simply sliced the amount we needed right there. No bones, no skin, just a nice clean beautiful 1.5lb filet of salmon. I try to eat fish at least 1-2 times per week so needless to say, I will be forever buying all my fish from this market. I stopped in the other day just to check them out and see if they might be a good local source for seafood. I must admit that I almost didn't go inside as it didn't look to fancy from the outside. However I'm so glad that I did. The seafood was very fresh. I know my seafood having worked in a fish market way back in High School. I really liked the looks of the Snapper, so the owner Emmanuel Had me pick out a couple and then cleaned, filleted and deboned them perfectly, at no additional charge. After visiting in Fort Lauderdale, I was searching for a fish market with quality seafood and more reasonable prices. I am SO happy to have purchased from here! Emanuel was so kind and helpful. I purchased 3 lbs of snow crab legs and received so much for the amount I paid for! He gave us recommendations on how to cook it properly. He also informed us that they can get any seafood or meat for whatever amount you’re looking for. I HIGHLY recommend going to L&R over the other fish markets in the Fort Lauderdale area.
