It was with great anticipation that I visited this Puerto Rican Bakery. I grew up on the island with a foodie father before foodie was a word. We traveled the island extensively tasting everything it had to offer. So my expectations were bubbling over at the thought of some home cooking. Unfortunately, there was not a single item that I ordered that I can brag about or recommend. Sadness filled my soul and I went home knowing I would never return. Sancocho was mediocre at best, half the size of their competitors and woeful in texture and flavor, likely the worst I've had. Next a childhood delicacy and favorite a buttered and pressed Mayorca w/ Powdered Sugar was a terrible simile of the real deal. The sandwiches lacked substance w/ very little protein between the bread and the meats I chose (pastrami & mortadella) were pathetic and cheap versions of the coldcuts I love. Another delicacy, the Alcapurria while their best dish was also just edible, a food truck a mile from home makes them much much better. A saving grace for these folks might be that most people might not know what the real deal tastes like. Even the bread they call Pan de Agua which is a favorite staple on the island was nothing like the original but again, who's to know? That's All Folks!

We visited this amazing bakery in Tampa and absolutely loved it! We ordered the Jibarito, just a heads up, it’s not served on plantains (it is a bakery, after all), but on your choice of pan de agua or pan sobao. We also had the Cuban sandwich, both were huge, flavorful, and satisfying. The alcapurria was delicious and very authentic—crispy on the outside, savory and well-seasoned on the inside. We also enjoyed a café con leche, which was smooth and comforting, just the way it should be but be careful it’s very very very hot! lol For pastries, we tried the quesito de guayaba and a cheese quesito. The quesitos were light, flaky, and amazingly good, the guava filling was perfectly sweet and just melt-in-your-mouth delicious. We also tried the donuts and their fresh pan sobao, which instantly took me back to my grandma’s house. So nostalgic and comforting! The bakery is very clean, with super friendly service. It was such a treat to pick up goodies to take home. Even the bathroom was spotless, with hilarious signs that gave us a good laugh. We’ll definitely be back!

Hello friends, I had the pleasure of eating at this establishment. Is located inside a plaza with plenty of parking. However, it is extremely small to eat inside and the waiting time can be long including long lines out the door. What makes this place unique is that the bread and pastries are made locally onsite which is a plus on my book. Prices are decent. Bread is good and so are the pastries. I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich and a Cuban sandwich. Now when I got my egg and cheese it was poorly made with a overload of ham in it and barely no egg. My wife had the Cuban sandwich and she said it was ok. This is a comfort food restaurant. So once in a while is okay to eat here. Would I come back and try it again and see if the experience is different? Yes I would. Update: I revisited the establishment, not much has changed since I visited. Except this time around the service we received was much better and what we ordered was correct. However, prices did increase which is understandable due to the economy.

I must say if you are reading this plz ignore the 2-3 people rating this place less than a five. I've been going to this bakery no less than 3 times per week since I heard of them. This place is new and their quality is top notch although is still a diamond in the rough from an organization standpoint because of how small the bakery is. The owners didn't imagine in a million years that it would have the success that it has had in a matter of a few weeks. So if you have an issue because some of their pastries are sold out go earlier or call so they save you a fresh order of what you want. They make their pastries fresh every day and I prefer buying a pastry from a bakery in which things get sold out rather than buying something that has been sitting in a shelf for days like other bakeries in the area. Is like going to Panera in the late afternoon trying to get an Asiago Cheese Bagel (one of their top sellers) you most likely won't be able to buy one in the afternoon because they are sold out almost every day before noon. So a fresh product is always above anything else. In regards to their sandwiches... The guy who commented about how they are named needs to instruct himself. This is a Puertorican bakery and all the sandwiches are named after places in Puerto Rico or something that represents us Puertoricans. These sandwiches are exactly what you will get at a local bakery (Panadería) in Puerto Rico. I'm not saying Puertorican sandwiches are the best in the world but La Creacion sandwiches are by far the best in the entire area so if you think they are "trilili" go to Publix bc you might be just too "americanized" for a great island style sandwich. As far as the other negative review about nobody acknowledging you I find this extremely hard to believe the place is so small even if they wanted to ignore you on purpose it would be impossible because you go in and the display/register area where you order are right in front of you. Even though a small bakery I have never seen less than 2-3 employees in the front no matter the time I go. Ohh and this is without counting the kitchen employees. Stop with the negative comments without substance and give a new business the break to develop themselves in a successful way. I must say from the time they opened until now they have come a long way already but the quality and great service has been on point since day one. If you are in a rush call ahead and place your order as food is made to order always fresh and if is packed you obviously have to wait a bit but trust me the wait should be the least of your worries because it will be absolutely worth every second. If you go and see the line out the door don't get scared they are going quicker by the day and planning on expanding sometime in the future. Support a great local business and enjoy a little bit of the amazing desserts and sandwiches our wonderful Puertorican cuisine has to offer. Thanks...

I called and ordered a sandwich for breakfast. The girl answering the phone had a hard time speaking english which is fine. I was patient. I spoke slow. Ham, turkey, and bacon sandwich. She repeated it back. Asked about toppings. Repeated it all back. I went to pick it up got home and had a soggy bacon only sandwich. I paid 11$ for this bacon sandwich. I wasnt given a receipt showing what my order was. I called immediately and spoke to a man and asked if i should come back or what. He said they would refund me but they were very busy and he would call me back in 10 mins. I waited 2 hrs. I called back and spoke with talia who then told me over and over that i ordered a bacon sandwich and paid for a bacon sandwich. That i didnt pay enough for the sandwich with bacon ham and turkey. I explained that i was very clear with my order, it was repeated back and i paid what i was told to pay when i got there. I had no idea what any sandwich would cost. I didnt know what was in my sandwich until i got home. She told me they would not refund me and i could instead come get another sandwich. I explained i ordered this for breakfast and It was now hours later and didnt want to go back for another sandwich. I would have the first time i called but instead was told i would be refunded. She was argumentative and told me my only option was another sandwich. Terrible experience. Wont be back. Way to...

Failed expectations. When i looked this place up and saw that it had 90+ Reviews with 4.5 stars so far i thought to myself "Oh? Maybe we have a closer good bakery nearby instead of drivin up to Melao"

Walking in the "Presentation" of their desserts etc looked almost stereotypical. The flans, the cakes, the pastry filled sweets and other things you probably saw at any other baker. Nothing that really stood out which made it look bland.

When my folks ordered their sandwiches one of em got a 'Tripleta' the other got some other sandwich... i couldn't tell which was which. Only that one had all sorts of meat and the other looked more tame. The tripleta didnt even look like a tripleta. It looked like something you'd buy at any other Bakery or heck even at home if im bold enough to say.

When I saw the sandwiches from sight alone i didnt feel "Wow... That looks yummy" it looked straight and simple. My mother didnt like the sandwich either. She bought some sweets and wasnt impressed either. She came here out of a recommendation from my Uncle.

I guess the recommendation also helped influence our experience which just turned out sadly mediocre. I would steer people clear if i were to be asked of the place but if they are THAT curious than i'd tell em "Sure go ahead and give em a try if you really want to...
