They changed their name back to LA fitness. However, a lot of things still says Esporta and well, they haven't fully transitioned over to being LA Fitness, or well what I am use to LA Fitness being like.
Giving it three stars.
Gym is nice and clean and has good working equipment. Lots of equipment at that. Their hack squat machine is bad though. It is the type that is bad for your back. They should replace with proper hack squat machines. They also do not have a hip thrust/booty builder machine. I guess they want people to damage their hips using a barbell and plates. Additionally, they have 15 minute use time on weight machines, cables, etc. so if you have lots of variations and need longer time you may be ok but might need to break it up some. However, most people ignore this and hog the machines.
The green grassy area where you do HIITs, cross training, stretching is rather small and cramped. They have lots of equipment but not lots of equipment. Medicine balls are limited to 15.4lbs max. Kettle bells are all in poor shape and well, you can't always find a matching set. Not too mention there's very few of them. The max weight I've seen is 44lbs. They also do not have in between weight kettlebells. Like it goes from 25 to 44lbs. I believe they may have a 30 which I saw once but who knows where that was hauled off to? Also, the dumbbells in this area are also hit and miss. They jump in size as well. Also, it's sometimes really hard to find a matching pair. IE two 20lbs or 2 10lbs. That is if you can find any in this area!
Additionally, many of the people who attend this location don't seem to have common courtesy regarding others in the gym. Between the plate slamming and the fact people will touch your towel and water bottle or move it looking for something when they should be asking. Don't get me started on I was doing a HIIT and had everything set up and then someone comes over and takes one of the weights I was getting ready to use. Like, really? Also, people don't put things back where they belong. So, the next person comes along who wants to use something has to hunt around for it. It would be nice if people would put things back in their place after they're done with it. I waste so much time looking around for something because someone took it off to somewhere else and didn't return it.
I will update my review and provide more stars IF I notice a change to the green grassy area and the available equipment. It could easily be 5 stars if they fixed some of these problems. I don't hold their other members against them. Can't do much about lack of class and...

I have been going to Esporta for almost a year now, almost 4-5x a week. More recently, I had a friend would began training with me to help her learn the lay of the land since I have been a consistent customer for a year now. A couple weeks ago I was approached by a staff member by the name of Jamal. He rudely came up to me and demanded to know if I was training her into which he subsequently threatened to throw me out if I did not show that I too was working out (which I was and have been every time I have step foot into the gym). Ever since this interaction, I have noticed Jamal keeping a close eye during my workouts, making me extremely uncomfortable as someone who is a committed, paying customer of about a year now.
This morning, my friend and I were finishing up our joint work out when Jamal came in for his shift. Not even 5 minutes into him arriving, he came straight over to me and my friend and accused me of training her again. This was and is a completely false accusation as I asked if Jamal knew anything about my previous history consistently coming into the gym and asked him how he could say that after showing up an hour after I was already into my workout. He then proceeded to be completely unprofessional and even threatened to call the police to have me removed. I have been an extremely committed customer as I am a former professional and collegiate athlete with a strict training regimen. I have never been treated this way by any gym staff member ever in my entire fitness history. Jamal needs to be reevaluated and reconsidered as a manager. He completetly mishandled the situation, made false accusations, and referred to me as "bro" several times. Emily, on the other hand, the co-manager, was completely professional in her manner and was the only reason that I felt like the situation did not continue to escalate.
Safe to say, this gym has lost two paying customers all over a misunderstanding with an incompetent manager who does not do his research before accusing customers of things. Jamal needs to be let go...
Read moreI am new in town and was super excited to start working out here with my best friend and roommate . This gym is only 5 min away from my new home . Everyone was so inviting and nice when I signed up . Megan the personal trainer was a little aggressive but still nice . I told her with the new move I couldn’t afford it at the moment but would let her know . Megan called me two weeks later and offered PT . I respectfully declined and let her know I’d let her know when i am ready . My roommate and I started working out together neither of us are personal trainers . We both are just trying to blow steam after work and hold each other accountable we have new fitness goals . We make a work out plan and try our best to stick with it . Today Megan approached us as we were leaving and said that we can’t train each other or she would revoke our memberships ?! Then proceeded to say that is said I had a friend that was going to train me In candem ? I have no idea where that is and have no friends or trainers here, I just moved in here with my best friend . Being approached and threatened to revoke our memberships felt like a threat if I don’t accept personal training there and continue to work out with friends I’ll be revoked . Very un professional , unnecessary and discriminatory comments and behavior . I asked to speak to a manager she said” I am the manager “ I said “ who’s your manger ? She stated “ I am , I am the personal trainer manager “ when I asked for a corporate number no one would comply . I never saw anywhere we are not allowed to work out with a friend . Not once did anyone apologize , they just continued to say we can’t train each other when there was no training of anyone . I’m very disappointed , humiliated , discouraged with this experience . It was starting to feel like a how I even have a co worker that attends the same was gym was nice to start seeing familiar faces . Now I don’t even...
