Good morning I ate there with my Grandson yesterday.I come into town and when We do, LaHacienda is the place we always visit !! Last night was the worst , I have ever experienced since we used to go to the very first one with the owner Geronimo. We ordered Queso it was watery , I understand when you heat it up. Its thinner until it cools down, but this remained watery. When we recieved my Grandsons dish , the nachos with chicken, steak & shrimp. There was hardly any meat , it look like they took 2 shrimp and cut it up, barely any cheese and only one side of nachos had meat and cheeses the other was just dry nachos and lettuce , pico , quac & little splash of sour cream. My dish was a Chili Releno with no cheese , a pinch of meat, rice , beans and a burrito with just ground beef, no beans and chicken quesildia. I ate a couple bites of beans and rice , tried a bite of chili Releno (not good)and left still a quarter of the burrito. I really tried to eat it but I couldnt no more. They offered me 10% off but nicely I told the young lady , i barely ate , I dont mind paying but for the amount of food I left and the quality of food and my experience,.10% was not right , I was not rude just being honest. I love this place, My childrem grew up eating at the original location and NEVER experienced the quality as we did yesterday. There was no manager to speak to , just a young lady from check out who was communicating with management over the phone. Like I said NORMALLY this place is the best Restaurant in this area , not sure what happened but I hope they can improve or change what happened. Thank you for listening, This is just an opportunity for improvement , thats all Have a Great weekend &...
Read moreI grew up in a small town of very boring, bland, everyone goes to Village Inn for breakfast every weekend morning food. La Hacienda was the only restaurant in the area of any other non-American cuisine when I was really young. Once I got into high school, other places started to pop up. But if you were in Pace and wanted Mexican, this was your only option.
I came here many times with my family, when my Momma wanted to take a break from making her delicious homemade tortillas. And man, this place was like a home away from home. It's never going to win a Michelin Star. It will never even get mentioned on the internet anywhere, but it is good down-home cooking.
They have ample options on their simpler section of the menu, like a taco, a burrito, an enchilada, etc. All done right, and packed with meat. Their unlimited chips and salsa are also great. Thin, crispy, salty chips, hot right out of the fryer. An a-ok salsa, with the option to purchase a bowl of guac or a bowl of warm, white queso.
I also really like their fajitas. That's what I get pretty much every time I go, because it's just so fun for me to make my own tacos of a little meat, a little veg, some guac, a little salsa, maybe crush a tortilla chip or two in there for texture. It's a good time. Like playing with your food.
Sometimes I write reviews and it turns out to be just the ramblings of a mad man. So, I'll stop now, because La Hacienda certainly doesn't need four full paragraphs to say that the ambiance is nice, the staff is friendly, and the food is good. If you're in Pace, FL, for some...
