So we were just charged an automatic 18% gratuity on a take-out!!!! We won’t be doing business here again. Can’t imagine what dine-in gratuity is. When my husband asked he was told it was automatic due to COVID! They pushed for a payment over the phone and didn’t disclose the total until I asked after she took the payment…now I know why. My husband said they also didn’t even ask for his signature and tried not to give receipt. He had to request a receipt after the server handed him his food. When I called and spoke to the owner, Kody, he told me it was a charge due to COVID and for take-out costs for paper products, I said so it’s not for gratuity and he said yeah it is, and I said but you pay paper goods out of it? I said that’s unethical to disclose it as gratuity if you’re using it to pay for other things and he said it is gratuity and he shouldn’t have to explain how he pays his staff to me. Very shady business practices. He offered to reimburse me the $7 but I declined since I would have to drive all the back for $7. It’s not about $7, it’s the principle of charging a fee, which used to be based on service and performance driven, and also not disclosing a fee called gratuity, and why was paper product costs mentioned? Also I was taxed after the added 18% gratuity. The server told me “you don’t think our chefs deserve it?!” Wow, just wow! 18%!!! Rock and Roll Sushi has lost our business! 😡 Also, I gave 1 star bc no stars wasn’t an option. When I told the owner this was bad business and poor customer service, he said he owned 3 stores, GB, Beulah and Pace and all of his businesses were doing just fine. I would assume so charging an 18% fee on all to-go orders and paying staff and to-go costs by charging the customers extra. Great business practices!

I've dined in the restaurant with my family and gotten to-go orders. Here's my experience. In the dining area, the staff was nice. The waitress with half her head shaved was pretty rock'ing cool and friendly. My young daughter thought her hair was awesome. The food was delicious. My take home experience was equally delicious. However, what seems to be missing from the take out, is the presentation. IMO, Sushi is meant to be beautiful, but the blacked out Styrofoam box makes that difficult. If I could change anything about my take home experience, it would be that a little more care were put into the presentation. I ordered a 6 piece beautiful Unplugged roll. You can admire the picture from the website. Unfortunately, my beautiful roll is served in a black box with a smudge of runny wasabi smeared on the box and the rolls stacked on top of each other, falling apart and drowning in the eel sauce. It would have been much more presentable served in a clear top, rectangular box (yes...similar to how Publix or any other sushi to-go would look). Perhaps an oversight on the company. Maybe the Styrofoam boxes are cheaper? Who knows. Next time I order take out, I'll make it pretty on my plate at home or eat in the restaurant. I hope this review serves to benefit the company and our community. I'd rather not pay $13 for my dinner to be thrown in a little bucket.

Yes it’s a theme restaurant..but it is something fun for our little area. Having lived in tourist areas and bigger cities it is exactly what I’d expect. The price is very fair for what we got. Portion sizes were the same as I get at other local sushi/hibachi places similar to Nikkos. After reading reviews while waiting for a late Saturday lunch..I was ready for disappointment, but was actually pleasantly surprised. I worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years from places like McGuires to Joe’s Crab Shack to locally owned breweries and restaurants in the smoky mountains. It’s a different vibe than some small town people are accustomed too. The only downside was my steak was a little more done to my liking but still within the temp range of acceptable..and we even had to get to-go boxes because the portions were good. My server Sheena was sweet and knowledgeable and if she wasn’t sure she asked the chef they were both very helpful in deciding which rolls to choose. I’ll be going back seeing as my son loved it and he wants to take his friend for his birthday..

My boyfriend, daughter and I have always enjoyed RNR Sushi. We live in Milton, FL. The first location we tried was in Foley, Alabama. We absolutely loved the atmosphere, loved the food and I was happy as I am Gluten Free and they were accommodating. We then tried the Pensacola, FL location several times and never had a problem. Both places.. great customer service and got what we wanted. The Pace, FL location opened up which is close to our home, made us very excited. We have been to this location about 6 times and there has always been an over abundance of customers and lack of great customer service skills. I have been quite disappointed the last few times. I order a very simple roll “Japanese Roll,” and request avocado to go inside. Well today, again, no avocado. I always ask for extra ginger.. and I don’t call 2-3 pieces “extra.” We always ask to have our rolls separate and 3 times, they put our rolls together. I cannot have cross contamination and this will always be told upfront. I didn’t want to go here again after last time but this time has finalized my not wanting to go to the Pace location anymore. I don’t understand why they can’t handle simple requests or provide good customer service skills. They really need to get their store more organized and revamped to make...
