First time here and rather disappointed having driven out from Dade City based on reviews. The place is cute but really lacks personality. It's just blah. The wine collection from Spain is nice with much of it reasonably priced, so that's the high point. But I also see a lot of wines that can be had somewhere else in the area much cheaper. I checked out at least half a dozen that were available at B-21 for about $10 cheaper. I don't mind paying a few bucks extra for a good wine, but I don't want something I can easily find in the area or get online. If you're going to tout yourself as a premier wine bar, then don't have a lot of wines readily found elsewhere in the area or you offer me no reason to return. Also the owner just seemed cocky and arrogant about "his" wines. I can see where some would say he's passionate, but to me it was just talking down to me. Just because I'm not Latin and not a man, doesn't make me ignorant on...
Read moreI reserved to partake of a tasting of $90. The tasting only included three wines, which I wasn’t aware of before. Before it started, I was asked to be moved to a separate table (because I was alone and a group of “friends” asked to be together). During the “tasting”, I was forgotten to be served wine, and when I asked to leave and my refund, the owner claimed there were “no refunds”, so I decided to stay for the remainder of the tasting. I felt disregarded and disrespected. The owner did provide a sample of out-of-menu food. I’ve been here many times, and I’ve tried to bring friends even. However, the customer service needs to be improved upon. Perhaps I’m not the demographic of this place, which is unfortunate and discriminatory. I really tried giving this place a chance, but it’s not for me. I hope some find their experience rather...
Read moreVictor and Rosa are an amazing son and daughter team here at La Vid. Fantastic high quality cheese and meat boards are available, and they import rare canned foods and oils/vinegars from Spain as well. Everything is always well presented and clean. And the wine- oh the wine. Victor has a huge variety of wine- largely Spanish and Portuguese but some very special French Italian and German. He's a very knowledgeable Sommelier and can tell you about the region the wine comes from, the way it's produced, the age of the grapes and even about the families that produce it. He'll find something you like, and often at great value as well. We come here a couple times a week- sometimes to sit and chat at the wine bar and others to take wine home with us. They do tastings every First Friday of the month too!...
