This location has continued to go downhill in service and food quality. When it first opened, the food was so good and the service was above average. As time has passed this restaurant just gets worse every time we visit. We keep thinking that it's going to be better, we've given them so many chances to get it right but each visit is another disappointment. We visited for the last time this evening and won't be back. The steaks were not cooked as ordered, one was way overcooked the other was much under cooked. One guest at our table that ordered one of the filet steaks did not get her food served at the same time as the other orders that arrived at the table. The woman that brought the food did not even explain why this person never got her food and we assumed she would be bringing it out immediately after putting our dishes on the table. When I saw her taking a tip from a table that needed cleaning, I asked her when our friend's food would be brought out and she very rudely answered that that was all that was on the order. We had also asked for more butter for the four of us and she yelled across the dining room that she had already brought it. She brought a small dab of butter for one person, not four. Never mind her absolute rudeness and uncaring, bad attitude. After 5 minutes more, our waitress came to the table and told our friend that her steak had fallen on the floor and that they would have another on the grill for her, this was ordered med. rare and arrived as nearly raw. When she explained to the waitress that the steak was under cooked she took the steak back to be heated more. 15 minutes later which is 25 minutes after all of us have nearly finished our meal, they bring a charred piece of grey, overcooked meat to the table for our friend, the same friend who had just waited 40 minutes for her food, the rest of us were finished with our meal. The other friend whom ordered steak asked for medium cook of his steak, it was med. rare. We had to ask for more water since our glasses were empty and ask for our dishes to be cleared as our table was overflowing with empty, used dishes. Our bill was over $78.00 not including the tip. We won't be back to this restaurant again. It makes us sad, we really used to enjoy coming here and bringing fiends with us. Thankfully, when we called LongHorn Steakhouse on Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte, they were able to accommodate us. There was a bit of a wait, but that was expected given how busy they were. After-all, it was 5PM!
My fiancé and I ordered the 10 oz. salmon with a salad and mashed potatoes, while our friends got the 20 oz. T-bone with a sweet potato, brussel sprouts, and a salad. We also shared the tunyon appetizer. The service flowed smoothly, our appetizer arrived quickly, followed by the salads, and then our entrées shortly after.
The only hiccup was that our mashed potatoes were cold. We mentioned it to our server, Destiny, who immediately offered to replace them, but we decided to just take them home. The portion of salmon initially served was smaller than expected, but Destiny noticed this herself and promptly had an additional piece brought out to match the portion we ordered. The T-bone, asparagus, and sweet potato were all exceptional.
Destiny’s service truly made our dining experience enjoyable. She was attentive, kept our drinks filled, and was a pleasure to interact with. There were three different times where the wrong food was almost dropped off with us so the back may be confused with the seating chart. When we got our food my chicken was black and hard on the bottom side. Definently forgot about on the grill because the top side was white. The steak knife would not cut through the bottom. I flipped it over and found the issue, tried to cut through the burnt side and could not. First time I've sent food back in years. I usually just deal. When my chicken came out the second time all my family was done. I cut the new chicken and it was raw even after the time it took to come back. It was too late by the time the waitress came back to check to even address it. It's rare that I send food back but I definitely don't send food back a second time. I paid for my meal, tipped my waitress 20% and took it to go. After reheating it today it is still raw (see pictures). Into the trash it goes. I don't blame the waitress aside from not sticking around for me to cut it the second time.
