On August 25, 2025, around 12:00 am, I placed an order at Los Verdes. I am fully aware that this location on Sundays closes at 1:00 am, but I had just gotten off work and was hungry. On the way to pick up my order, my husband decided he wanted a milkshake. Out of courtesy, I attempted to call ahead and add it to the order rather than waiting until I arrived, which I thought would have been inconsiderate so close to closing.
Between my husband and I, we called the store nine times with no answer. When we arrived, there were four employees (two males and two females) standing at the counter talking and on their phones. I politely asked if I could add a milkshake (without mentioning the calls at first), and I was told they could not make it. At that point, it was 12:55 am ā still before closing.
When I mentioned the calls, one of the employees on the other side of the counter told me, āWe have a policy that we canāt answer the phone 10 minutes prior to closing.ā She then corrected herself, stuttered, and said it might be 10 minutes or more. This explanation was not only unprofessional but also inaccurate, as I immediately pulled out my phone and showed that my calls were made well before that time frame.
Despite this, the staff refused to make the milkshake. My husband and I ended up leaving without it. One male employee did apologize, but then casually told us to ācome back Tuesday for buy one, get one free shakes.ā That response felt dismissive and unhelpful, especially since we were regulars at this location.
This experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. It was not about the milkshake itself, but about the lack of customer service, the dishonesty regarding policy, and the unwillingness to serve a paying customer before actual closing time. Having four employees on shift simply standing around while refusing service is unacceptable.
We will no longer return to this location but rather go to another one. We previously never had an issue but...

Serviceā¦now this is why my review isnāt 5 stars. Alejandra is a great server and she takes care of your needs but thatās where it ends. She is the only server that I enjoy to get served by and makes the experience welcoming. As for the other serversā¦they arenāt anywhere as welcoming nor have as good service. Countless times Iāve walked into the restaurant and the servers just stare at me blankly. Not one restaurant that Iāve ever been to do the servers just look at you and donāt say anything? I have to ask whether I sit or what? And they tell me yes I sit, first time I came I got weird looks not knowing what to do but now i understand I just go sit somewhere.
Also another detail about service, I had walked in at 5:55 to a completely empty restaurant, Iām not exaggerating when I say there was no one there besides the workers and myself and a friend. I sit down at 5:55 and I see thereās a special for $5 hotdogs until 6 or $6 hotdogs so I look at the server and I wave him over and he tells me to wait a second (heās talking to another employee) he comes over at 5:58 and I ask him about the special and he says itās until 6 so I take my phone out and show him itās 5:58 and he says no sorry he canāt put it in the system and I tell him again, but itās not 6? And he says yeah sorry but thereās been other times with other servers where itās 5:57-58 and they still do it.
Atmosphere is also okay, itās not very themed and it feels weird when you walk in since itās just an open space and no one greets you. They serve Colombian/Venezuelan food but thereās no theme of that so it gets 4/5 , itās a nice restaurant with a nice looking presentation but itās very weird walking in and thereās no host or anyone there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to eat here last night and let me begin with the service. The waitress had an attitude from the start and had a mean look on her face the entire night. It took her about 15 minutes to come and take our orders and then another 10 for the drinks to come out. We started with the Deditos de queso and they were pretty good but thatās where the good food ends. I ordered the Arepa with Shredded Beef and my girlfriend got the Chicken and Steak Quesadillas and we both had ordered guacamole to come with it and were charged extra. Keep in mind thereās only 2 other people dining inside at the same time as us so you would think the service would be a lot quicker right? Yeah no. 30 minutes later (at this point weāve been sitting at the table almost an hour) the food finally comes out and the Arepa I had ordered was extremely dry and TOUGH and all the food was extremely greasy and bland same goes for the quesadillas. Oh and the guacamole we ordered? They had forgot about it but then brought out a pre packaged container of guac for the both of us. I kindly returned the Guac as I told the waitress I had no idea it would be coming from a regular store bought container as opposed to being made in house as I had assumed initially. I took 2 bites out of the arepa before making the decision of leaving it completely and informed the waitress as well, she didnāt seem to care nor ask if there was something else Iād like instead, also she didnāt even remove the guacamole from the bill nor the arepa but I didnāt even feel like putting up a fight with her as I was trying to leave that place as soon as possible. Itās sad because 2-3 years ago this place was actually really decent and to see that this is what theyāve become is truly disappointing. I will NEVER be returning...
