As someone who has lived in both NYC and New Haven, I have had my share of great pizza and mediocre pizza, sadly this place serves the latter. Luigi's Pizza in Naples, Florida, left much to be desired. While the restaurant has a loyal fanbase, my experience aligned more closely with the critical voices in their reviews.
The pizza itself was underwhelming. The cheese lacked flavor, the crust seemed pre-made rather than freshly hand-tossed, and the toppings, though generously applied, failed to elevate the overall dish. For a restaurant that claims to use quality ingredients, I expected more than mediocrity. It was clear the toppings had come straight out of a can and were applied as an afterthought.
Service, often a redeeming factor, was lackluster at best. Despite the staff's attempts to be friendly, they appeared disorganized and inattentive. Additionally, the $2 credit card surcharge felt excessive and outdated—a detail mentioned in other reviews that Luigi’s seems unwilling to address, even when customers express frustration.
What makes Luigi’s stand out—though not in a positive way—is how the owner responds to criticism. Instead of taking feedback as an opportunity for growth, they often defend questionable policies or deflect responsibility. While I appreciate their engagement, a defensive tone does little to instill confidence that change is on the horizon.
If you’re looking for a memorable pizza experience in Naples, Luigi’s may not be the spot. There’s potential here, but unless the restaurant reexamines its approach to food and customer care, it risks becoming a footnote in Naples’ otherwise vibrant...
Read moreI didn’t eat inside but it had a real nice old school pizza parlor vibe, kinda like a brick building from the northeast. But I went there cause the review were good, and the pictures made it look good but those are decieving lol and supposedly it won Naples pizza of the year in 2023 but idk how… I got a pepperoni pizza like I do at all places. The crust has a flop if u care about that. The underside is thick and chewy, and I can’t really say that any of the cheese, pepperoni or sauce had any flavor that made it particularly stand out. That’s what I give it 2 stars, thicker undercarriage (dough)than normal and slightly chewy. Maybe could be cooked longer, idk? Nothing noticeable in terms of flavor, just another plain pizza. Oh and bring cash cause it’s a $2 surcharge on all cards no matter your total. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone as a “must try” and if I’m back in the area again for work l, I’d go try another...
Read moreThere were 3, thumb-sized pieces of charred unknown embedded in the bottom of the crust (see pic). The toppings were not as ordered. The online ordering interface could be better. It was delivered quickly - 30 minutes. Take away the errors and it's a good pizza, not exceptional in any way. And now, incredibly, the owner wants to suggest on Google that it might not have been their pizza. Apparently he is infallible. Sure, there are 3 Luigi's in SWFL. This one is 2 miles from my home. The next closest is 24 miles away. He says that they don't offer delivery, but I'd invite anyone reading this review to simply click on their website and see for yourself. Luigi didn't just sell me a bad pizza, he also proved to be purveyor of a...
