I would probably give it a 3.5 if I could but I don't think its a 4.
I stayed in a standard double room for seven nights. If not for having to pay in full up front/non-refundable, I would have likely changed hotels.
First of all, the staff was excellent. The front desk was a joy to be around. They were very nice and helpful when I needed them to be. The rooms were clean. It is because of this that I wish I could rank it higher but here is why I cannot:
The air conditioner was on when we arrived but the room felt wet and smelled strongly of chlorine. I attributed this to being by the pool. The beds were average. We didn't have achy hips or backs after sleeping on them but they aren't terribly special. The pillows were worthless. They are labeled on the cases as Firm and Soft but they should be labeled Flat and Flatter. They were awful. I wound up using my memory foam airport neck pillow at night. That is how bad they were.
The bathroom was TINY. Barely enough room to get in to close the door. The TV doesn't have many channels and it is not a smart tv nor a large one. Watch out for those $20 on-demand movies. We must've clicked on one without knowing because it showed up on our bill after we left. I called and they refunded it to me because they could see that I didn't actually watch it.
Parking is not great if you are on the inside of the hotel with a pool view. My husband has a hard time walking sometimes and we had quite a far walk from the car to the room. The hotel is within walking distance to iHop and Olive Garden but we still drove for my husband.
Walls are thin and the room is lit up at night. So, if you need quiet and darkness, do not forget your earplugs and sleep mask. There was no way to keep the light out of the room. The only option for white noise is the A/C which is usually fine for us but this unit was very loud and random. It always sounded like someone was trying to get in our room at night but it was just the A/C knocking.
This hotel is on the edge of the nice part of Naples so if you like the better part of town, go elsewhere. We will not...
Read moreI'm guessing this place has long term residents, or possibly people living there for weeks or months at a time. I can't figure it out, but there is a group of 10 people or so, who are always hanging around the common areas, bopping from room to room, and get loud and party at nights until daylight morning hours. I'm assuming government assisted housing at this hotel, as they seem capable of working, yet lounge at the pool all day as a group. It's like a trailer park scene of gossipy, idle people. It's especially poor taste to come home and walk over people as they're sitting on on the staircases. I was always looking around to see who is watching me as I return to my room because I'm the outsider who goes out and does something productive each day. I was there for 5 days on work and observed this. I wouldn't expect to find such a group of losers in Naples. For the hotel- the grounds were tidy, and the room was clean. I had no bath towels on day one, the coffee pods were decaf only, and the tv remote barely works. The remote battery covers are riveted shut, so it takes some serious maintenance work to change the batteries and the front desk would rather hand you a new remote hoping it works. Three tries later, I finally had a remote that could at least change the channel. The tv guide feature didn't work, so you only change up and down channels without knowing what is on. The layout of the hotel is such that if you want to open your curtains to sunlight, then everybody can see inside your room. Staff was accommodating, and I was upgraded to a premium room due to my complaining after 5 hours of being there. The premium room upgrade includes an extra pillow per bed, a coffee maker, and a couple of granola bars. I would think those are standard features for most any other hotel. For a cheap stay and you don't mind riff-raff, then...
Read moreI booked a room here for one night with my husband and infant because we had some renovations going on at home. The check in area wreaked of marijuana and had an huge disgusting leak in their roof so I couldnât wait to get to the room and get my infant out of there. Then we load onto the elevator and it was lacking AC so we were all bright red dripping sweat trying to find our room. Upon entering the room seemed nice. We went for dinner at Olive Garden which was walking distance, score! Then the horror began. Someone pounded on our door at midnight then lingered outside the room which woke up our baby. I was so upset and scared I couldnât go back to sleep. We made it through the night. In the morning I wanted to take a bath, but all I could smell was piss which was strange because we hadnât even used the bathroom!! I wet a towel and swiped the floor and it was bright yellow I almost puked. The tub had some sort of hole in it, my guess would be a bullet hole. I didnât even step foot in there because I was disgusted. I then went to wash my hands and when I pulled a rag out there was black hairs all over it. Both my hubby and I have blonde hair!!! DISGUSTING! At that point I wasnât even sure the sheets had been changed between us and the last person so I stripped the bed and all towels in the room and wet them so they would be forced to clean them. I got home and had to take an hour long shower to get rid of the ick. Then we took the stairs down and the AC fan LEAKED ON MY HEAD. NEVER AGAIN!!! RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!! (Not to mention the pool is closed for renovation and that wasnât disclosed...
