When traveling with a dog it is always a comforting to find places that accept our furry pals with open arms. There are many hotels, motels, rental cottages, villas, and condos who rent accommodations for pets. The biggest turn offs in their verbiage āPet feeā or ācall to find out pet feeā, or my favorite ā$X of non refundable pet depositā. A simple ānoā would suffice. Or in La Quintaās case āPets Welcomeā and they mean it.
We chose this hotel for itās close proximity to the central dining and Historic Areas of Downtown Naples. The property is ideally located near Third Street South, Fifth Ave South, and the Naples Pier. The ideal location is within walking distance to Naples Bay Marina, home of the prestigious LāOrient. The views are sweeping and breathtaking.
The property itself features self parking in front of the hotel, on the side, and at the back. An open lobby with comfortable tables, chairs, and lounge seating welcomes. Although, at check in there was only one front desk agent. It seems that there could be another person. There is an uncomforting feel upon check in, when there are eyes burning in your back to hurry up. The agent was not fully knowledgeable of the local area, but he was very courteous and friendly. I fully understand preblocking rooms when a hotel is at full capacity. However, there could still be options, one does not need to be pigeon holed into only the room blocked. Or was it because we were traveling with a dog, but I thought this hotel allowed dogs in every room? No big deal. It was still a very amicable check in process.
The room was clean with a giant king size bed. The bathroom was well stocked with all amenities. Although, the soap and conditioning shampoo left a little to the imagination. Oddly enough, the vanity was on the other side of the bathroom wall. So after a shower you had to walk out of the bath room to groom. The faux wood hallway extended into the bathroom and part of the room. Most of the room was covered in carpet. In this day and age of our continual use of electronic gadgets I couldnāt find an outlet next to one side of the bed. Maybe it was my luck to get the side of the bed with no outlet. Although there was enough outlets next to the TV and chaise lounge. The room was equipped with refrigerator and microwave. As advertised, free WiFi was throughout the hotel albeit a little slow. There is a doggie poop area complete with doggie bags and dump bin next to the pool.
Upon check out I decided to go to the front desk to drop off the keys and retrieve a folio, bill. I didnāt even looked at the bill until I got back in the car and was ready to drive away. Oops error on the room rate. So I went back in. After a little puzzle solving the very kind and accommodating manger made an adjustment. No operation is perfect but when recovery comes as effortless as this hotel, it speak volumes of their commitment to hospitality. I would certainly stay here again and other La...
Ā Ā Ā Read morešØ Warning: Avoid La Quinta on 951 & 75! šØ If Zero āwere allowed, they have gotten ZERO STARS I am absolutely shocked and appalled by the treatment we received at this hotel. Not only was the manager rude and unprofessional, but what happened was completely insulting and, frankly, racist. My husband is about to undergo major surgery tomorrow, and Iām caring for our kids. We just needed a 3-4 day stay to be close to the hospital, nothing more. But the manager treated us like criminals, and even worse, publicly humiliated us in front of other guests. As we were loading our things into the elevator, the manager loudly announced, āYou canāt live here!ā in front of everyone in the lobby. I tried to explain that we were locals and just wanted to be close to the hospital. I even showed my ID with a local address, but that didnāt seem to matter. Things escalated quickly. After unloading our carts into the room we paid for, we went back to return the carts. As we tried to exit the elevator, the manager blocked our way and confronted us again about being ākicked out.ā He then called the policeāfor absolutely no reason. He claimed I assaulted him (which is a total lie), and I have the whole thing on video. The police arrived (three officers, no less) and after reviewing the footage, they saw the truth: the manager waited for me at the elevator, physically shoved me, and then ran away screaming that he was calling the cops on me. The whole experience was disgusting and humiliating. To top it off, the manager slandered my entire family in front of a crowd in the lobby, making false accusations and painting us as criminals. I am DONE with La Quinta, and Iāll make sure everyone I know hears about this. Iāve lived in SW Florida for 45 years, and I will make sure this nightmare isnāt forgotten. If you want to avoid harassment and being wrongly accused of something you didnāt do, I suggest you stay far away from this hotel. #LaQuintaFail #DisrespectfulManager #RacistBehavior...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel for the second time, and unfortunately, my experience was not as positive as my first visit. During my initial stay, the service was amazing, and the staff were very understanding of my needs as someone who has an emotional support service animal. I am protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and when I checked in the first time, I provided the necessary documentation from my service provider without any issues.
However, during my second stay, I encountered significant problems at check-in. I presented the same documentation from my provider, stating that my dog is an emotional support service animal. The lady at the front desk informed me that they do not accept such documentation. When I mentioned that I am protected under the ADA, she seemed unaware of what that entailed.
This experience was very disappointing and stressful, as it felt like I had to justify my need for an emotional support animal despite providing valid documentation. I believe this employee needs more education regarding the ADA and the rights of individuals with disabilities, to prevent such misunderstandings from happening again.
Overall, I am very disappointed with my recent experience. I hope the hotel management takes this feedback seriously and provides the necessary training to their staff to ensure that all guests, especially those with disabilities, are treated with respect and...
