Worst service and food I ever had in Sarasota, first and last time I visit this restaurant, I went with my wife and son to try a ew peruvian restaurant, as soon as we walked in nobody was there to greet or take us to our table, I had to ask the waitress to get our table ready for us, she didn't clean it well it was wet and dirty. The waitress whose name is Denise did a very poor service, she just stood up and waited without asking or giving us suggestions and acting like we needed to hurry up to order,, making us feel very uncomfortable, all she did was answer yes and no to our questions about the food. After ordering she didn't come back even though I tried to bring her attention, when she came to bring the jar of juice it was unclean and very dirty, I thought it was because the jar was old but when I scratched it the dirt came off like a sticky orange thing, just disgusting, she wouldn't come back to ask if everything was ok, then another waitress called Emilia was serving other table, I had to call her bc there's no was nobody else and she was very polite and apologized for the incident and immediately changed the jar. The food was horrible, I ordered Arroz con mariscos, seafood wasn't well coocked and the rice overcooked, my wife ordered ti pa kay and it wasn't good either. Even though Emilia was not supposed to serve our table she came back to ask if everything was good and politely apologize about the jar once again. Denise made our experience the worst we ever had. As me and my wife are peruvians we want always to visit peruvian restaurants as we feel proud of our food, but a bad experience like this needs to be addressed. I don't recommend this...
Read moreThis place is usually great! Their food is authentic and good. But unfortunately, I will say that this time, on me and my fiancé's 10 Year Anniversary on top of everything, it wasn't nearly as good as the other many times we've been here... all the way back to when they were located off of Main St in Downtown SRQ. First, I'll mention that our server was VERY rude to us. Though we were sat first, he took the other Peruvian peoples party's before us. He rushed us when he finally came. Upon coming up to us, I got what I always get. Boiled potatoes in yellow sauce as an appetizer, which was COMPLETELY cold (a dish that's supposed to be hot). I also ordered the grilled chicken that came with a salad and side. I asked for the chicken to be well done and it was not. The salad was good, with white rice on the side. NOTE: Not even a week prior to this, there was a rice and bean fried "patty", like a fried potato cake on the menu. They had let me substitute that for the rice and salad and it was so good... out of this world! This time though, when I asked, the guy said he had no idea what I was talking about and that they didn't serve that. It was still right on the menu! So I had to order a side of white beans that looked and tasted like soup, not a side of beans, to go with the rice. I am very unhappy with this meal and the way we were treated by our server. I don't know if ill be back. Their menu and service has gone so downhill since they moved locations but this was just plain bad... especially for a $60 friggin...
Read moreI recently had lunch at Maemi Peruvian Restaurant, and I must express my utmost satisfaction with the exceptional culinary experience. As a Peruvian, I deeply appreciated the authenticity of the food, which transported me back to the flavors of Peru.🇵🇪
The attention to detail in crafting traditional dishes was evident, showcasing the chef's dedication to preserving the essence of Peruvian cuisine. The ceviche was a standout, bursting with freshness and a perfect balance of flavors. Additionally, the Lomo Saltado demonstrated a mastery of technique, highlighting the chef's culinary expertise.
While the food undoubtedly deserves commendation, I'd like to offer a constructive suggestion for improvement. The restaurant could benefit from a revamp of its promotional strategies and an update to its overall ambiance. A subtle enhancement in these aspects could attract a broader audience and elevate the overall dining experience.
In delivering this feedback, please convey my sincere appreciation for the delightful culinary journey Maemi provided. I look forward to witnessing the continued success of this establishment and its contribution to the promotion of...
