Marina's Pizza — Restaurant in Florida

Let me start by saying how sad I am that I have to give this review. This place was my family's favorite pizza shop and this evening was the last time I patronize this business. I started by calling my order in for pick up. Ordered one large and one small pizza. When i arrived for pick up with two 7 yr old hungry girls I paid cash $38.25 and was given a receipt. Then I find out the pizzas were never made because the order disappeared. I asked that they remake them. "No problem" on my side but also no apology. When the order was finished I saw the young man pick it up and all the toppings slid almost completely off. The acting manager grabbed it and took it out of view for a few minutes then brought it back. The young man brought it to me and I said, I'd like to check the pizza. He told me to "go ahead" and walked away. I looked and slammed the lid of the box back in place and left extremely angry. The acting manager threw more toppings on the pizza and just gave it back to me. It tasted horrible! I decided to call and ask for the owners name so I could privately share with him my experience. Instead of that happening I was bated into an argument with the acting manager telling me I couldn't have the owners name. I explained it was on a business license within the shop and did I have to go in to get the name?! We continued with the argument even when I told him I just wanted to share my experience with the owner. He screamed at me, no, I couldn't have his name. Then he said, sorry. I replied, that's the first apology I got and NOW it's not good enough. We will never spend another penny in this place bc they clearly don't care about the customer. Saddened, appalled...

I have been a customer by proxy of Marina’s for many years and many great meals. When I say customer by proxy I mean that I have never set foot in the business, but have had many sandwiches and pizzas brought home to me to enjoy in my own home as I don’t get around very well these days. In this light, I don’t feel that I have the right to criticize the décor, the hostess at the counter who wears a perfume that I don’t care for, the napkin quality OR anything other than the food that Marina’s offers. As opposed to the occasional diss that a hit-and-run customer has to offer about a soggy pie.. I have never had anything that was less than what I would describe as “good”, but more often the word “excellent” bubbles to the top of my mind. Tonight my culinary understanding of the world was shaken to the ground. My usual “pizza pusher” defied my request for my usual and brought me home a Portuguese Pizza that even coming through the front door had me up and out of my living room chair with feet a full 2 inches up off the floor as I drifted to the kitchen behind him and that GLORIOUS aroma. The customer service was awful! The young man taking my order didn’t seem interested at all in answering my questions about the menu or taking my order.

I inquired if there were any meat sauces that didn’t contain pork. He responded “ I don’t know”. My response was, can you ask.

He said he could ask after he took the order of the people behind me. Totally dismissing my question without any attempt to quickly ask the 3 other individuals behind him.

I cannot rate the food as I left before riding. The nonchalant, rude, dismissive customer service was enough for me to spend my money at a different establishment.
