A perfect calzone is a beautiful thing.
I'd never been to Mark Anthony's Pizza and I'm glad I found it. I always try a plain cheese pizza when I go to a pizza place for the first time, and when I picked up my 16 inch cheese, I saw a calzone going into the oven. I had to have one. They offer two sizes: regular... and enormous (they call it "family" size... And yeah, it could feed 4 easily). It had been a long time since I had a calzone; the last several from various pizzerias were mediocre so I've been sticking with pizza. This calzone was perfect. The dough wasn't too thin or soggy on the bottom, nor was it too thick at the seem. It didn't bust open and was perfectly baked. ......... And the ingredients. Holy moly! Cheese cheese cheese! The mozzarella and ricotta were fresh, delicious, and the perfect texture. And there was about 3 pounds of it! I ordered mushrooms and peppers and was pleased to see fresh-sliced multicolored peppers. The mushrooms were canned but they're better that way anyway, in my opinion. It really was a perfect calzone.
Oh yeah, I said ordered a pizza. As other reviews have mentioned, the crust is amazing. Again with the fresh mozzarella! And the sauce is balanced with enough oregano to be flavorful but not overbearing. Brushed with extra virgin, high-quality olive oil, this was an ideal New York style pizza.
The man and woman working there (I didn't ask if they were the owners, but I would assume at least one of them were) were extremely nice, also. If you're ever in or around Spring Hill, give this place a try. You won't be...
Read moreMark Anthony’s Pizza holds a special place in my heart as my absolute favorite pizza place, and for good reason. Every visit is a delightful experience, and each bite of their delicious pizza is like a taste of perfection. My go-to order is the Grandma’s pizza, cooked a little well done to achieve that perfect balance of crispy crust and gooey cheese.
One of the things that sets Mark Anthony’s apart is the quality of their ingredients. From the rich tomato sauce to the generous toppings, every component of their pizza is fresh and bursting with flavor. The Grandma’s pizza, in particular, is a true masterpiece. The thin, crispy crust provides the perfect base for the tangy sauce, savory cheese, and aromatic herbs. And when cooked a little well done, as I prefer, it adds an extra layer of texture and depth to the experience.
Overall, Mark Anthony’s Pizza is a gem of a place that never fails to impress. Whether you’re a longtime fan like myself or a newcomer looking for the best pizza in town, I highly recommend giving them a try. You won’t be...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Finally — real New York pizza in Florida! We moved to Florida from New York 3.5 years ago, and ever since, we’ve been on a mission to find pizza that even comes close to what we had back home. It’s been a journey — we’ve had a few hopeful moments, but nothing consistent… until now. Just when we were about to give up, someone recommended Mark Anthony’s, and wow — game changer!
We ordered a plain pie on our first visit, and Marc generously threw in a couple of grandma slices that honestly felt like home. We got back to the house, took one bite, and knew we had finally found our spot. It’s the real deal — consistently delicious, perfectly made, and unmistakably New York pizza.
Mark is so friendly and welcoming, and Destiny (who we met on that first visit) was just as great. We’ve been back several times since and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend to anyone craving that authentic NY...
