I went there with a friend on Oct 02, the day they re-opened after a brief break. I grew up with good French food. My mother was a Cordon Bleu cook. I also spend much time in France and Belgium. I had made a prior reservation by voice-mail as they were gone. When we came, the waitress did not want to offer a booth (the 2 empty ones remained empty all evening) and my friend did not want to sit under the fans. So we ended up in the right corner with one facing the wall. The Soupe du Jour, Leek Soup, on the menu that night, came with your main course order. My friend opted to have it. It was so bad that she made me taste it. This is what we call a total culinary failure. A colored tasteless dishwater in a bowl. Unexplainable: a beginner, a "debutant" would not fail this in the first cooking class! Has the chef never tasted this very common French soup? We chose the same main course: Trout Almondine, an easy classic. It was done well. The portions were very generous and would qualify as an entire meal in Europe. Served with a perfect Gratin Dauphinois (scalloped potatoes) with just the right hint of garlic. The carrots were cooked just right and enjoyable. But Alas, the snap peas were not stringed! I stopped battling with them in the mouth. My much anticipated Crepes Suzette, a great oldie, which they had advertised the week before, were a fiasco. Not a drop or hint of liqueur! it is meant to be flamed with Grand Marnier or a mix of Cointreau with Cognac. It was what I call your Muslim version (I had a Baba au Rhum with no Rhum in a Middle Eastern country). Instead of an orange sauce(from squeezed oranges, sometimes mixed with a little squeeze of lemon juice), I found a few mandarine slices from a can thrown around! It is hard to believe that the chef never had Crepes Suzette before, if he advertises them in his new menu. Here again: ???? Perhaps he is used to a local clientele that does not know the difference? Verdict: this restaurant would not make it in France. I trust that they do well with some dishes and I suggest they...
Read moreHow appropriate! On the 208th Tuesday, exactly 4 years after we met it's Valentine's Day!! As we have the last 3 consecutive years we celebrated with the birthday girl Isabelle Roos at Nouvelle Cuisine in Spring Hill. It's one of the nicest and one of our favorite restaurants in the area. Chef Kinds Jan precise and detailed recreation of the French-Belgian cuisine is a fine dining experience you shouldn't miss! Since 1999 they have been serving an authentic taste of Europe in this elegant location with the ambiance equal to their delicious food! We started the celebration with a bottle of the 2019 Maison Rosier Champagne from France. As Nadeene Stuart-Horak always likes to toast! It has become our custom to order the Escargot Bourguignon for our appetizer and it was truly amazing! For our entree we decided on the Chateaubriand with the Bearnaise Sauce and as expected it was prepared to perfection! I'm sure the Chateaubriand was the first meal I ordered at Nouvelle Cuisine on my first visit around 20 years ago. If you haven't been you're missing a true culinary treat! All of the entrees are served with soup or salad, vegetables and their famous Gratin Dauphinois (which is a secret recipe that they will not share). I asked Isabelle to choose a wine to pair with our meal, as I have no knowledge of European wines and she decided on the 2015 Tour Prignac Grande Reserve from the Bordeaux region of SW France! It was the perfect compliment! For dessert my Tuesday chose the Creme Brulee and I went with the Mascarpone White Chocolate Cheesecake! They were both a perfect way to end our gourmet experience!! Bon appetit!!!

Read moreI wish I could give this place a 10 star. We have lived in this area for 10 years and never new it existed. Honestly, I would not think this fine of a restaurant would exist in Spring Hill. I don't eat out because quite frankly, I know how to cook and most of the time I am disappointed. Went to Kat Kora restaurant in Disney and the plate I got tasted exactly like my pot roast I cook. I like my pot roast, but when I go out to eat, but didn't expect a famous chef's item to taste like mine. This place is top notch. Everything was amazing. We were a party of 5 and had the rack of lamb (amazing), Quail (awesome), Maine scallops (they really are from Maine (I am from New England so I know), oh and the desert very good. The desert was very comparable to some we had at a Disney event where they were featuring a famous pastry chef. My son does not eat potatoes, EVER, EVER. He had this potato side on his dish, and he at it like it in less than about a minute. If I knew he was going to do that, I would have taken pictures. But he was too fast. WE WILL BE BACK. Great Service too.... Friendly, easy to make reservations.... Awesome wine choices too. We ordered a chili wine and I could get into some serious trouble with it....lol The owners are very knowledgeable about food, wine and beer. I could go on and on about this place. I am not a desert person. Like the more savory foods. So coming from me this says a lot, "save room for desert".... Oh and VERY clean. I don't know what the other person was talking about. I am a clean freak. They have the kitchen open so you can see everything. ...
