Unfortunately the staff in there on Sunday morning ruined our family breakfast with my disabled wife. She has a 4# emotional support dog. On this day he did not have a heavy vest on being it was 90 degrees outside. Nor did he legally have to have one on. According to the Americans for Disability Act my ESA does not have to be "marked for proof" We walk in the door and immediately they told us your not allowed to have your dog in here. My wife tells them that the dog is an ESA. They then proceed to ask for his paperwork or vest for proof (Which is also against the law, we don't legally have to show anything) So my wife gets it out. Our server said she didn't need to see it that it was fine. My nephew had our dog in his lap so my wife who only has use of one leg at the moment could get seated with her walker and give this restaurant her "proof". Once settled our server took our order and my wife was ready and able to hold HER dog. My nephew passed me the dog under the table and I placed the dog on my wife's lap where he stayed and never moved. Not 2 minutes later this same lady who obviously dosent know the rights of a disabled person or their emotional support animal came by and told my wife to get the dog off the table! Well who in their right mind puts a dog on a dinner table? My wife is a bigger female so the dog was not able to sit on her lap under-the-table it has to sit on her lap in front of the table. By this point my wife had been so done with being humiliated that she picked up her dog and went outside and sat out in the hot truck until our food was able to be boxed up. I believe the folks down at Martis should probably call their congressmen and get some information on the ADA also known as the America for Disability Act and ESA also known for emotional support animals And then maybe have a informative meeting with the front of the house staff on how you handle people that come in with emotional support animals. I do know that my nephew left a review last Sunday and unfortunately he got a rebuttal to the extent of my wife had the dog on the table which was was not a fact was a true lie. So no there's too many diners in this town to choose from then to be treated like that...
Read moreThis place was hopping and I can see why! The prices on Yelp are old prices, so don't be surprised when you go and it's more expensive. It's worth every penny and still more than affordable. It is like stepping back in time. This place is a well kept secret amongst locals. We both got omelets with hashbrowns and coffee. My wife got the chicken fajita omelet and it comes with sour cream and salsa. It was huge and it was delicious. I got The Combo omelet (meats) and had them smother it in gravy. Someone on here had mentioned the sausage gravy was better than their mother's, and I have to say, it is delicious. The owner's son came by and topped our coffee off and thanked us for coming in. I can tell you, this will be our go to breakfast spot going forward....
Read moreThis local diner is well loved by repeat clientele, who seemingly fill almost every table during the breakfast and lunch time rush. The service is prompt and efficient (though not overly friendly) and the food quality is quite good. Prices have gone up considerably in the past couple of years under Biden, but are still fairly reasonable.
They do not have any take-out or to-go menus, which is very disappointing for those who want to be able to call in orders.
Their menus have white-out all over them, since they keep raising prices due to crazy high inflation. Their “daily specials” are good, and are written up on a board… so look for them.
I’d highly recommend Marti’s for the casual dining experience with local folks and good down...
