Mellow Mushroom Fleming Island — Restaurant in Florida

This is quite simply the best pizza I have had in I don’t know when. Regarding the service, it is on par with some of the worst I have had in the past few years. The Cuban Pizza is well crafted with a smoke pork that is on par with he best BBQ you can find, Shiitake mushroom pizza is a family favorite. BBQ Chicken is its own amazing flavor that kids will love. Curbside delivery, non existent, wait staff that cares, no where to be found. This is probably the 20 or 30th time we have eaten at a mellow mushroom, experiences constantly amaze us with food and disappoint with service. This time was no different. I opted for curbside delivery this time, figured it would be a way to not experience the hectic inside of the business. The process was great, gave multiple options for adjustments etc. Payment was easy and communication within the app/email was on point. Arrival at the location was 10 minutes prior to scheduled ready time. 14 phone calls later, two phones, Wi-Fi and LTE (5 bars) and no answer. Walk into the store and you are greeted by a disinterested hostess that points to another direction. I mean, when you specify your vehicle for curbside delivery, I would expect you get curbside delivery. Kitchen staff basically asked who you where and what you wanted, state name and you are there for curbside delivery and you get a confused look. Food was ready but mildly cold, annoying, but at least they attempted to validate the accuracy of the order. Open the boxes really quick and say yep its there, mind you it wasn’t and you are on your way. To say the least, the food is amazing, it has been 10 years of great pizza and other foods with less than attractive service. Will I go back, oh yes, the food is that good, will my expectations of service be above 0, not a chance.

Meh. They were great years ago but they have been in steady decline since 2022. Tonight was the last meal I will have, don't see the point in returning. Ordered the bruschetta, each slice was overly toasted, turned to crumbs when I bit it. No worries though, I knew I was ordering a Togo pizza so if anything I could just use the bruschetta for croutons in a salad tomorrow. I ordered the Merry prankster to go. It is brought out 20 minutes later and explained that the kitchen ran out of garlic aioli so they gave me a Togo cup of garlic oil? Not what I asked for, or will use but whatever. I get home and aside from the no aoili, there is NO CHICKEN on the pizza. Only sausage. What a waste of $25 for a medium pizza. They could have simply communicated BEFORE MAKING the pizza, hey, we're out of chicken and aioli, are you okay with that or would you like a different pizza? I would have just ordered the kosmic pizza and made several people happy. What is up with restaurants these days. If I'm going to drive 12 miles to your establishment, it's because you have food I want. If you're out of something, tell me BEFORE YOU MAKE IT. Then I will pick something else. But now I'm home, and three people are hungry. And you're food has been coming out hit or miss for several orders anyways, this was just the last time I give this restaurant a chance with my hard earned money I won't waste my time going back and will simply stick to V's Pizza right across the street. Their bruschetta is better anyways, and their Hawaiian pizza, and their prices are justified by their cause. Bummer MM, you've been a lifetime fave since early 2000. Shitake Pizza had become one of my favorites. I received a burnt pizza that could not be consumed. This pizza should never have been sent out of the store. Mellow Mushroom service and quality has really gone down. I called the manager Katrina and complained. She offered to remake the pizza. However, they don't have delivery, and I am at work, which is 5 miles away from Mellow Mushroom. There will be no meal tonight. I would have to pay again for Uner Eats to deliver me another pizza and hope it would be a better quality. My confidence in this company is broken.

I believe in second chances, I went back to Mellow Mushroom in Fleming Island to order my favorite Shitake Pizza. Anthony (Mangaer) didn't know my name or that I recently had a bad experience. He greeted me promptly, took my order, and gave me a approximate time when my pizza would be ready. My pizza was ready in 20min (sooner than ETA), he showed me my pizza, and gave me extra condiments. He ended with I hope you like your pizza. I shared with him who I was, my last experience,and picture of my burnt pizza. He apologized and thanked me for coming back. The pizza I recieved yesterday was what I should of recieved in my previous post. I ordered my previous pizza at night and it was delivered vs. I went inside the store during the day. I had a better experience in person and will be back for my favorite pizza. Thanks...
