I came here as a Doordasher, so I guess this means you should read this believing I'm a second class human, as the employees treated me as such...
I came inside, as the Doordash instructions for Sonic are rather threatening compared to most locations. Saying I "must come inside or be reported" vs using their drive-thru. Nevertheless, I go inside and greet the multiple employees in front of me. No response. They are currently kinda working on other tasks(Ive worked in fast food within the last 10 years, so they're chugging along, at best), I raise my voice a bit again. No response. I assume the blue haired girl with nose ring is working hard on another order.... I assume the frilly haired orangish pinkish haired girl is busy dealing with the drive thru. Another few minutes goes by. Zero response, I've made eye contact with these two and made gestures as well as trying to engage over 5 times?.?.. I receive additional direct eye contact from multiple employees further into the kitchen as I point to what seems to be my customer's order - waiting for over 32 minutes by now on the Sonic POS screen... Something for which I will be penalized for... As the unpaid minutes continue to pass - I gesture again to the girls ignoring me in front of them... I dont want to snatch this order from INSIDE their kitchen(I am in their internal kitchen doorstep) - this could potentially be considered theft... But these employees won't acknowledge me taking it???? I'm not in the mood for the Karen of your kitchen to come out and accuse me....
An African American woman, slender in build appears, directing other employees, I think she is the manager.. We make direct eye contact for a moment, she walks away as I point toward the food again, disregarding the stranger(potential who knows what???) standing in their kitchen... No concerns of customer service, let alone security...
At this point I'm fed up, I walk into the main area of the kitchen under their warming lamps, grab the receipt to ensure I'm getting the correct order.... Confirm the name, grab the order, and walk out.
Not once in the, I don't know - 8 minutes that I stood in this employee only area, that a single employee acknowledged me... Shame on you Orange Park Sonic....
Don't go to this location. I haven't eaten their food, but coming from someone in the service industry - their employees are trash. Go/order to/from the Sonic on Blanding instead, their crew is much more attentive, friendly, and hard-working. I'd be willing to bet that their sanitation levels in the kitchen, as well as care for your food is going to be much higher based on the people at this...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at this location and felt compelled to share my concerns in the hope that management will take action to improve both product quality and customer service.
First, the food quality was well below expectations. The fried items I ordered had a distinctly bitter, rancid oil taste, suggesting the cooking oil hasn't been changed in some time. This not only affects flavor but also raises concerns about kitchen hygiene.
Second, I ordered a Route 66-sized drink and was surprised to find the cup filled almost entirely with ice, leaving very little actual beverage. This felt deceptive—essentially charging a premium price for a large cup of ice.
When I inquired at the drive-thru about a military discount, I was curtly told that they no longer offer one. The tone and demeanor of the employee—particularly the young woman with purple hair—came off as dismissive and unnecessarily rude. I understand policies change, but the lack of professionalism was disappointing and uncalled for.
To add to the frustration, the total for three basic snack-sized entrees and drinks came to over $30, which feels excessive given the portion sizes and quality. At that price point, you're honestly better off going to Five Guys or even Wendy's, where you get more value and far better service.
The only redeeming item was the chili cheese foot-long hot dog, which was decent—but still overpriced for what it is.
I sincerely urge management to retrain staff on proper customer service etiquette and portion control, and to address the kitchen quality issues. In particular, the drive-thru employee I interacted with does not reflect well on your brand and may be costing you...
Read moreIf I could rate this place a zero, I would. I had the worst experience ever there last night where I left in tears. I personally struggle with social interactions due to social anxiety, and William didn't help with that. Last night me and my fiancé and our three kids went there. We spent almost 40 dollars there, ordered a number one, 3 kids meals, a elclipse slush, grape sprite, the new Buffalo chicken bites, and the new cheesy Baja wrap. My kids tenders were so dry the wouldn't eat them, my Buffalo bites were hard, the cheesy Baja wrap looked like someone carelessly poured the cheese bc it was soggy and dripping everywhere (I gave it to my dogs when I got home), and to make it even worse I had to ask my #1 burger to be made over, not once, but twice. The fact that I had to do this wasn't the problem I understand that people make mistakes or misunderstand you. The problem is when you want to talk crap about one of your customers, make sure your door is closed because I heard everything, and although people do make mistakes I'm pretty sure it was your carelessness that got my order wrong. So William, I hope you have the day you deserve and my and my family won't be back, because I have never been so disrespected. You shouldn't work there or anywhere that involves customer service. A burger with lettuce, ketchup, and pickle is not hard...
