Went in for the first time on a relatively busy night not really knowing what to expect. The rolled ice cream itself was fine. However it felt like the employees fell flat on how to handle an allergy since all the rolled ice creams are all made on the same few surfaces and they only scrape in between to clean up the cold surface without a proper wipedown for when there is an allergy alert... I let the cashier who took the order know I have a mango allergy (instant anaphylaxis) and asked if she knew someone had ordered the Mango Tango earlier in the day thinking if that was the case they would make an accomodation. She spoke with another employee and I think I heard a yes but honestly couldn't make out what was said. When they take your order you're assigned a # that they call when it's ready and all the orders go down the line in order of being received. They put my cup on a higher shelf for the allergy and it was forgotten/skipped over which if it's out of eyeline it happens and that's ok because it was separated for a reason. I let them know they missed my cup since there were no other pending orders at that point. They stated the reasoning was to keep it from the potential food contaminants, but there wasn't even food near all the other cup orders on the back counter. Then they made the ice cream on a cold top that wasn't wiped down for the potential cross contamination of my allergen, so there was no point in even separating the cup if they were gonna do that. The workers seemed liked young college/high school kids and probably didn't know any better so I can't knock them too hard. But if I knew that was gonna be the case though I would've gotten scooped instead of rolled ice cream. I waited until I got home to try it to have my epipen on standby in case I did have a reaction. Didn't want to waste $10 on ice cream, but better to do that than pay an ER bill... Please train the workers for allergy accommodation, or have a dedicated the cold top for allergy orders that gets cleaned after each use since not all the cold tops were in...
Read moreIf there was a 6th star, this place would deserve it. We have been going to Panama City Beach Florida for years and 4 years ago we found this place and fell in love on the first visit. Super clean and just outstanding customer service. Let me tell you we have been there years and multiple days randomly through the year and the owner puts in time day in and day out never been there and he wasn't there. They have an amazing selection as you can see, but the hand made, hand rolled aspect each individual order takes approx 4-5 minutes to make hopefully Google will allow me to post a video not just a pic. That being said being a patron many times over, I decided to break my own rule and break a rule of an establishment by bringing in my own food, a SNICKER bar. Now, they do have a lengthy selection of candied items but my person is a nice refrigerated snicker bar. Well BAM I asked if he could do a special kinda thing and well I wasn't disappointed. OUTF*CKINSTANDING I TELL YA. excuse my vocabulary yet this is days later my review and am telling all my friends and family about this awesome treat...ESPECIALLY ON THE FREAKIN' BEACH AT THAT. So I'll end my rant with an exceptional yet again experience Chris I believe that's the managers name if I recall runs an awesome family establishment and gets a 5 star review. BTW he had a military discount so don't forget to ask...... HAY CHRIS YOU OUTDID YOURSELF AGAIN WITH THAT SNICKER. hope this don't get ya in trouble with Mars lol. GL and we will see you again in a few months. Get a manager and take a day off brother, I hope to not see you but see ya next time. I'll leave a post it on the register if I really do miss ya. Read moreI certainly hate to leave a bad review and I usually try to see how a place of business responds to reviews to see if they truly care, about the business or the customers. Then, after reading reviews and seeing the same basis responses to everything, shows that they either use a company to respond to these reviews or that the business is so busy, that they don’t need to improve or fix anything. With that being said, the 2 employees working the counter on 11/24/24 were 2 of the rudest employees I’ve ever dealt with. I get it, kids don’t want to work and they don’t like their jobs. But being in a vacation town, I want to experience fun and joy, and maybe even just a hello, thank you, or something. As soon as we walked in, we were told all that was left to as vanilla ice cream and a little bit of strawberry. Sicnr i have never been there before, I said “so there’s no Oreo available”. Her smarta$$ response, that had vanilla ice cream in it, so obviously it’s available. Ok….i stopped asking and just ordered. We came with 8 people and all 8 said the same thing, it was ok, but one little Oreo for a bowl of ice cream…not smile. No please. No thank. Nothing. If I wanted a second order it was another $1.50.
I would try rolled ice cream again…. Not from here. My guess this is a chain, not family owned….and the response will be generic.
