This was our first time at Murray Bros. Caddyshack and we had a wonderful experience! The host, manager, and waitress were friendly, accommodating, helpful, and great about following up to see if we need anything! We ordered the mashed potato golf balls as an appetizer and before I could get a picture, they were gobbled up! They were delightful, soft, and tasty with the side dipping sauce (the sauce very much compliments the dish and adds some extra flavor)! I ordered the Caddy-rita with the appetizer and I absolutely recommend! Perfect ratio and presentation! For dinner, my other half ordered the steak with a double side of potato golf balls. The steak was cooked perfectly as ordered, flavorful, tender, juicy, and delicious! The garlic herb butter on top was to a perfect proportion and complimented the steak versus where some places over season and do not have that flavorful steak taste needed. It is worth every penny to order the steak here!! If you like spiciness, definitely order the Italian beef! I ordered mine without the bread (for personal health reasons) and had the peppers on the side, so that when I received it I was able to cut and blend the meat with the peppers. My side was the fresh seasonal vegetables of zucchini, squash, and purple onions which cooked just right (a perfect amount of juices, seasoning, and texture). For dessert, we ordered something that I forgot the simple name of, but it was a cold scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, a scoop of whipped cream served on top of a fresh brownie topped with a generous amount of fudge and small candied pecans! Just delightful!! They were really busy due to the RiverCityWrestleCon (RCWC) Kick Off Party with guests of Simon Sez, Bobby Fish, Teddy Long, News 4Jax Scott Johnson, Jon Davis, Stix, and others. However, that crowd did not slow down the staff in any which way! They were fully staffed and prepared! I enjoyed walking around and looking at the different memorabilia, however I was sad to see that some of the really nice framed things had mold inside of them. This could be due to a past storage issue or other and may or may not be able to be fixed and reframed. My favorite things to look at are in Looper's Lounge on the shelves and the cases up front by the hostess stand. To end our visit we visited the 'the shed' gift shop where there were plenty of items to choose from (golf shirts, t-shirts, hats of all kinds, DVD of Caddyshack, Bill Murray books, koozies, golf towels, gophers) and we took pictures with the frame provided...
Read moreWe stopped this evening for dinner. The food was really good. Waitress on the other hand was not so good (Jenna L ) So came to the table stood by the child at the table and very quietly ask if we knew what we wanted to drink. .No one else heard what she had said and one lady in the group stated she did not hear what she said. The Waitress tow her eyes as she was apologizing and step to the other side of the table and asked again . Everyone ordered. One asked for a Beer and Water the beer was brought out. But no water. Everyone got their drinks and she walked away no straws. She checked on other tables and as she walked by I had to ask if we could get some straws. She was gone about 5 minutes came back and asked if we knew what we want. Did not ask if we wanted appetizers just what we was having after taking are order she walked away. Glass half full beer almost empty she walked by several time and the one that had ask for water finally ask her for a glass as she was walking by (No stopping ) . When the food came out she help deliver it to the table and was gone. The drinks was pretty much empty around they table and one flagged down another waitress and ask if he could get his water filled Jenna came bringing it back set on the table and as if he want and refill on his beer he said no so she walked away never often or asked anyone else. A few minutes later she come around and ask the other person with Beer if he wanted a refill when he so No she went and go the check and brought it to the table.Their was 5 adult and one 14 years old child. She never ask how was the check to be made out just put it all together . We all tip Very well for good service. We know they work hard .But we all agree if they can’t do their job and make sure we have drinks if need ask if we need anything. We was wanting to try some appetizer but wasn’t ask. Wanting to try some dessert was not giving that option. The child wanted to take her left over with her but wasn’t ask if she need a box. So top goes with service Bad service gets Nothing. Same option we was giving. Here your drinks -Here you food here your check. Make sure you tip...
Read moreMurray brothers, if you’re reading this, this place needs help. Jon Taffer would have a field day in here. I felt like I walked into a time portal to a 2003 Applebee’s. The restaurant had a beautiful lake front view, but outside seating was closed even on a perfect 70 degree Friday evening. Inside was warm and stuffy. The dining room featured food-stained carpet throughout and golf/Bill Murray inspired wall decor. While the theme was cool, as I love Bill Murray movies, it felt outdated and tacky instead of fun and quirky which I’m sure was the intention. Example: the movie posters were framed in cheap plastic frames you would find at Walmart. Decided I’d give the specialty cocktails a try as this was a specialty restaurant. Presentation and flavor was a 1/10 for the Gin Fizz. It came in a water cup and had no flavor. The highlight was the key lime pie. It was delicious. Our server was also very friendly. However some of the runners looked miserable when bringing out food to patrons. The location was also very interesting as the community was 90% vacant. We walked around after dinner and it was eerie how dead it was on a Friday night. Major Truman Show vibes. I was looking forward to giving this place a shot but I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you’re finishing up a round on the nearby...
