Honestly, I'm surprised at the reviews.. Took a second to get drinks.. understandable no big deal. Server was busy. Got our drinks and sugar caddy had hardly any sugar.. again understandable.. it's in the middle of breakfast I just used a sub sweetner. Didn't get any silverware. Husband went up and got it. We were given 3 out of 4 but that's cool. Husband made me switch silverware because mine weren't that clean. I just needed to stir my coffee. Went to order but they were out of most things we wanted but tried to be understanding and we ordered other things.
I had to keep running my poor server because we just kept realizing we didn't have what we needed and she wasn't really able to read the table on what was needed.
Food came. I asked for hash browns crispy. Not even a little crispy. They re did them for me and they just tasted like oil. My eggs Benedict were over cooked and had a weird after taste. The egg and the sauce over cooked and english muffin undercooked. My kids didn't want to eat their food and they never do that. Water tasted funny and I'm well aware of what florida water taste like but this one was beyond that. Ended up asking for a Pepsi for my husband. It was flat. Had to ask for the side of fruit we ordered. Came out smelled like it had turned.. checked it out. Watermelon had mold.
Saw the cook.. in the kitchen.. no hair net or anything. Wasn't even like pulled back in a neat bun or hair tie or anything.
Server was nice and apologetic but she is incredibly set up for failure and as a result It was hard for her to do her job.
Asked for to go cups to take my kids drinks. Didn't have any. Only thing I asked off the check is fruit. Payed for everything else. Didn't ask for nothing else. We honestly considered telling the table next to us not to eat there but maybe their experience will be better. Nervous that I'm going to be sick from what I did eat but I guess we will see...
Read moreDinner!!! So I reviewed brunch and have now been back for lunch several times but finally headed here for dinner. They have a descent selection of draft (4), bottled beer and wine. We ordered the beef carpaccio to start. This is one of my favorite dishes and I guess I love it even more now! Holy smokes the beef was tender, the sauce amazing and the dressed greens.. add the egg on the toasted points and there is a serious party happening in your mouth! We moved onto the entrees.. Scallops with Butternut Squash and the Baked Market fish. The fish was Cobia and it was pan seared and put on top of a daily risotto (mushroom) and had a sun dried tomato pesto on top. This fish was cooked nicely and the risotto was delicious. It was too much pesto on top.. a bit overpowering. There was also a strong fish finish.. not that it was bad just off putting. But the fish was enjoyed! Now the scallops.. thus might be one of my favorite dishes. Such a nice flavor profile with the butternut squash sweetness matched with the prosciutto saltiness and balanced with the puréed pistachio pesto and onion marmalade. Scallops were perfectly cooked and not a bit of grit.. great quality. True compliment to the chef that prepared it! Dessert! Brought a piece of the lemon berry cake home.. Also excellent, fresh and light! Only complaint was we were a little out off by the football game and other entertainment on the two big screen tvs they had overhead.. we would have preferred a more romantic feel.. lights were bright. The ambiance is not what we prefer but the...
Read moreWent for breakfast. The place was absolutely atrocious. Table linens were not only filthy but also had what I can only assume is encrusted pasta sauce from the night before on them. The plastic placemat was wiped off with sanitizer, but still had the same pasta sauce from the night before as the tablecloth. Thankfully I found a copy of "Coffee News" to unfold and use as a placemat so I would have something clean to set my silverware on. Once our food arrived after a 45 minute wait the English muffin on my benedict was so stale that I couldn't chew it. My mother had to yell across the restaurant several times just to get our coffee refilled, despite us having sat for over an hour with empty cups, and finally got the attention of someone who was not our server to accommodate. The tables are so close to each other that someone in the party next to us stood up and slammed into someone from our party. There was no way for the other part guest to get out unless we stood to let her out and continued standing until she returned. I normally allow poor service to slide unless it's extreme because everyone has bad days, but when poor service is in combination with filthy conditions, overcrowding, and aged ingredients it shows a complete lack of respect for customers or new business. This place is a one and...
