I have been a resident of the WGV area for 7 years. When I first moved here I was getting my hair cut at a Chain salon and I had a stylist I really liked. He cut my hair for 8 months and then, he disappeared. I was very disappointed and the salon would give me no information on where he went. The next 3 visits were by different stylists until I found one I liked. After a year, she was gone. Again, no information on where she went. I went through the vetting process, found a new stylist. Do I really need to tell you all what happened? I finally settled on a hair stylist named Terry-Ann. She cut my hair for over a year. She did an outstanding job and she listened. She didn't tell me what I needed, she asked me what I wanted. She took her time to get to know me and to get it just right. After a year of taking care of my hair, I bought a card from this chain for $100 or 10 haircuts. I felt fine spending that amount as I finally found a keeper. Then of course, what do you think happened? In a come and she is gone. Salon tells me nothing. I immediately left and went home to bemoan that I was going to once again have to find a new stylist. After all, I had a card for 10 haircuts that was non refundable. So of course, I needed to stay loyal to that salon. However, and this was a really big however. I had the foresight to get Terry-Ann's number. She had landed on her feet. She is now part of a group of excellent hair styles at The Beauty Mark at World Golf Village. To tell you I was excited that I didn't have to find a new stylist is an understatement. I followed Terry-Ann to her new location and gladly gave up my 10 haircuts my old salon. Teryann is an outstanding hair stylist and I am glad she landed nearby. The Beauty Mark owner gives her all the time she needs to take care of each customer. The shop is spacious and very very clean. You do not feel like a customer here. You feel like family. So, if you are looking for a salon that puts you first above cranking out haircuts as fast as they can, give the Beauty Mark a try. First appointment with them was during a week day, I walked in, no one greeted me, I just sat there until finally someone decided to come out from the back and ask me if I had an appointment, needles to say I did not go back for my appointment time. I thought okay, maybe they are busy. Returned yesterday for another appointment at 3pm. Got there at 2:45, again no one at the front desk, one of the hairdressers made eye contact from the back and didn't say a word to me. I sat down thinking Hannah will come up and get me when it's my appointment time, needless to say 3:05 hit and still no one had greeted me and Hannah was no where to be found. I walked up to the counter stood there for about a minute and again no one acknowledged me, I just walked out. At 3:30 Hannah calls me to inform me that I had an appointment at 3 and I didn't show up. I explained to her that I was there and and what happened, all she told me was they don't have a receptionist on Saturday, no apology, nothing. I basically booked an appointment to have the length of my hair shorten/ weight removed from the ends even requested a consultation to be clear that’s all I needed today! I pointed out to the stylist the problem area and requested no layers , no stacked Bob. Well, I received 2 different hairstyles 4 1/2 inches on one side and a different style on the other side. I requested for someone else to check this cut. The owner came and was very nice pulled my hair up and checked the cut found a few long pieces and apologized for the confusion with the stylist. I am a licensed stylist myself so I wanted to be clear as to the service performed. I would never recommend this Salon ! Came home and rewashed the hair and tried to style it to somewhat of a look …it’s just a horrible cut . This was a simple request a couple inches off the bottom , blend the hair and send me home..
