I ordered Uber eats, food was warm when delivered, and everything tasted pretty good, pleasantly surprised, and portions were good. I would recommend the general tsos chicken.
Updated Review, after two times of ordering, I went for a third time and a complete disaster. Do not order over phone use apps if you can. Combination meals do not come with what they say they do as they clearly charged me for each item separately like an egg roll. I pre ordered, I called to pick up for certain time, so I do not have to wait. My order over the phone was difficult, and could not figure if ordered was placed right, so I called back and after discussing the order, we made sure it was good. I get there to pick up, food not ready, I waited 35 minutes more, annoyed about that, it is as almost as they never took my order. When I got there and asked about the pick up order, they seemed they started making it then. No point at all did it seem they actually took my order. They told me yeah we are working on it. I politly waited about 35 minutes for it, and it was everything I did not want to do, since I placed the order ahead of time. I paid and left, when I got home one complete meal was missing. They packed the food stapled the bag and receipt showed what was there, got home 1 out of 4 meals not there. I called back to see what happened, they said oh yeah we know about that it is here. Do you want to pick it up or what. I was taken back by that and kept it cool.
I said NO I do not want to pick it up after I waited there until 615 and my order should of been done at 530, it was 630 pm it would take me 35 min round trip, just give me my money back. They said oh we give you credit when you order agian. I was like no just put it back on my card. She had to ask the manager they chatted end results was a Long story, but short of they took my name and number down and will be giving me store credit one day.
Which I am not sure I will get since I won't order from here anymore. Also worst thing is their menu does not reflect the actual price they charge you. It's off by 3 to 5 dollars on every meal or more. Place was not at all professional about their mistake nor did they have an explanation or any aspect for making it right. I ate here 3 times and will probably never do it agian. It was very diccult to understand why I could not get my money back. Also while I was waiting there, not sure if it went where I thought, but I figure that I share what I witnessed, one of the guys dropped food on the floor and scooped it up with is tool and put it back towards where he was cooking. Not sure if he tossed by the oven in some trash or not, but it looked very weird to scoop something off the floor with what your were cooking with and place back in the area where you were cooking. Not something I wanted to see, but hopefully food did not go back in, looked like a scallop. Maybe it did, but either way, he used his tool he was cooking with to scoop it up. It was very gross. I added a receipt to show their menu does not match the actual prices they show. You can also see time of my actual order, which never happend and I did not get the one meal which was the Beef order.
Pretty disappointed with their lack of mistake. Would of been okay with return of money on the card, or someone deliver it to me. None of that was even an option or recommendation. Either way that is my review. Time to find another local Chinese...
Read moreThis is one of those places that always has me contemplating the basis in which I submit reviews. Do I review based on my expectations of joints that are in a similar category or review purely on my experience without any regard as to the type of place it is. For example, I can't review a high class luxury experience at 5 star restaurant with the same scale as a waffle house.
In any case, I must voice my pros and cons as I personally expect a restaurant at the bare minimum to be. The food is a 4...good as you'd expect many takeout Chinese restaurants to be without any hint of disappointment in flavor. The environment is small and warm. They have the door open with 4 ceiling fans on high in only what I can assume is an effort to reduce costs on air conditioning...in the state of Florida...in June! Not unbearable, but not pleasant. While I know it's primarily a takeout place, some people do eat inside and I'd imagine you'd want them comfortable as well. It seems clean enough and so I'll go onto the next point. The service today was 99% handled by the owners' younger children of around 12-14 and 8-10. I'll add that it is perfectly legal/legit for children to work under their parents at younger ages. The older child did a good job of placing my order, charging my card and delivering my food properly. However, the younger child delivered my drink and straw. I had a problem with him unwrapping the straw from the paper wrapping himself and handing it to. I can be a little touchy on germs sometimes, but I don't want that straw. Who's to say the adults are cleaner or dirtier than the children? I wouldn't want an adult to do that either. I went up to the front to grab another straw instead, regardless. Lastly, one of the tables was decorated with their children's schoolwork and electronics.
Just not a good feel for me even though the food was good. It does make me wonder about any potential shortcuts that might be made in the cooking process, though. Maybe others don't mind these things, but they are the things that would stop me from returning. Obviously, some feel the need to rate at 5 stars but I can't see how unless it's the best takeout...
Read moreAs a vegan, King Wok offers a surprisingly satisfying dining experience with a variety of options that cater to plant-based diets, even if they aren't explicitly labeled as vegan. The restaurant’s “accidentally vegan” dishes are a welcome discovery, particularly their fried rice, which is flavorful and hearty, minus the egg. The General Tao's Bean Curd is another standout dish; the crispy tofu is perfectly seasoned and pairs beautifully with the savory sauce, offering a rich, satisfying flavor profile that vegan and non-vegan diners alike will enjoy. The Broccoli with Garlic Sauce is simple yet delicious, with the garlic sauce adding a nice depth to the tender, perfectly cooked broccoli.
While there are more vegetarian dishes available, many of them can be adapted to vegan diets as they are often free of dairy or other animal products. It’s a great place for those who may not be strictly vegan but are still looking for plant-based options, as the staff is generally knowledgeable about dietary restrictions and can assist with modifications.
Although not an entirely vegan restaurant, King Wok offers a good selection of plant-based meals, making it a solid choice for vegans in need of a quick, flavorful meal. The combination of accessibility, flavor, and variety ensures that vegan diners will leave satisfied, and it's great to see that more restaurants like King Wok are expanding their menus to accommodate...
