Do you want premium ice cream handed to you by the owners themselves? That's Twisted Turtle. It was, and read this with sincerity and emphasis, SO SUPRISINGLY GOOD! I got the large vanilla "custom Sunday", and I chose hot fudge and brownies. Every bite was a celebration. I'm not kidding. I eat healthy, but when I "cheat", I want the full reward. I made the perfect decision to take a chance at this business.

I've only been once, but I'm hooked and I'll be back even though I'm from out of town. Why?

There's decent ice cream, and then there's top notch premium custard ice cream.

There are big businesses and your money goes into some rich CEO's pocket who has never visited your city, and then there are two local owners taking your order and personally handing you their ice cream! All of the latter things are Twisted Turtle.

This quaint little creamery is a much needed addition to the St. Augustine area. The owners here strive to provide the best homemade products from their vegan gelato (vanilla/chocolate), sorbet, fruit sauces, brownies, cookies, whipped cream (buffalo trace bourbon whipped cream is amazing) and a delicious yuzu curd just to name a few. I personally love her chocolate custard! For drinks they have bottled craft sodas instead of your average soda fare.Their atmosphere is relaxed with some island beach murals and a fully customized service top and wrap around bar and takes you to the beach when you sit down.
