I have never written a bad review for a place, however, this place was on a whole other level of unprofessional. We chose O'Brien's to not only celebrate mine and my roommates first St. Patty's day of drinking age but also reuniting with an old roommate of ours who we had not seen for a couple months. Not to mention the old roommate used to work for another O'Brien's location which she loved. When we walked up to the door we each gave our IDs to the bouncer who then proceeded to put underage Xs on our hands. I had to correct him stating that I and my current roommate were of age to drink and to look again. After sometime calculating the math he let us in and did mark my third friend with appropriate underage Xs. We then went in and walked straight to the bar. I went to order a drink first, the bartender made it and took my card and then held the drink back and asked where my wrist band was. I told her the man at the door didn't give us any but that I could show her my ID. She then became extremely over dramatic yelling that I and my friends had to go and that she needed to walk us out. So, out of respect, I waited for her to come around the bar so that she could walk with us. As she came around she motioned her hands in the air pointing us out and yelling for us to leave. By this time, everyone is staring at the scene she's put us in. My friends and I walked out and asked the bouncer for wrist bands. He said they were out of bands. The lady then said "I need to see everyone's IDs right now. These bouncers help us out but they don't know what they're doing. I'm professionally trained!" I gave her mine first and she stared and stared and stared at it trying to calculate the age. As she was doing so, another customer came up to say hi to her and she snapped saying to the woman "I'm sorry, I love you but I've got serious stuff going on! These girls ordered drinks at my bar!" (Keep in mind, only I had ordered a drink... which was completely legal...) So in order to help her get her math right I told her that I and my one friend were 21. She then checks that friends ID and shines the light in her face to compare her to her ID. Then my underage friend tells her "Here's my ID if you want it but I am underage and he already gave me Xs." She very rudely replies, with a head swing and all, "Honey you have Xs on your hand for a reason!" As if my friend was expecting her to take them off or something. I explained to the lady that my friend was aware of why she had Xs and was only telling her that she had them for the lady's convenience. The bouncer then walks up to see about why this lady was yelling at us and when he heard, he told her that we were good and that he already checked our IDs. She then snapped at him and he just rolled his eyes at her and walked away. She then told us to leave and said we could not be there because we might give drinks to our underage friend. I have never in my life been treated so awful by a place. It's one thing to double check our IDs, I understand that because I am a bartender myself, but it's another thing to embarrass my friends and make a scene inside and out of the building for something that was not our fault. She could've easily just asked for our IDs and spoken with the bouncer about the wrist bands. That was her loss as the three of us are bartenders/ servers and would have treated her well. We all will not be back and don't advise any younger people to go here unless they want to be treated like they are lesser. We ended up somewhere much nicer with bartenders who...
Read moreThis establishment, if you are a what I will call "normal individual" who just goes there to enjoy music you are subject to a type of persons that are looking to cause physical altercations as I was there after a nice date at Sacred Pepper. We walked over to enjoy some live music, both dressed up from our dinner and had a gang of 10 male and female patrons at their establishment gang up on me and threaten a physical altercation. They were not asked to leave, we were! We were not protected, but asked to leave because they could not control those individuals who threatened to harm me. As a female, leaving instead of enjoying my evening, while I was waiting out front for an Uber that was only three minutes away a person from that establishment, bouncer, walked out and asked me if I could wait in the street for my Uber and leave the premises all together while 4 of the bad actors waited outside in hopes of jumping me. So basically, premises liability, not protecting good patrons of the establishment but protecting those who are bad actors they can't control, Feeling unsafe and not being protected is unacceptable and as a lawyer for Morgan & Morgan I will be sure this is addressed. I do not recommend this place because they cator to those that cause trouble and whom they fear verses encouraging good patrons and having those threatening harm to leave. It is very sad because they have very good live music and good bar food . Hindsight I should have called the police who would have removed them and I would have had a police report. However, plenty of witnesses to...
Read moreWent there for lunch with co-worker, we were in the mood for potato skins. Now they don't have your typical potato skins they come with ingredients I guess the Irish like. We just wanted your plain old run of the mill potato skins. Which the waiter was happy to accommodate us with. It was like $7 something and you only got 4. They come with provolone cheese on them, I liked them, my co-worker wasn't a fan of the provolone. We also got an order of the beer cheese and pretzel sticks. The small order was like $4.50 and you only got two pretzel sticks. They came out hard and cold, I guess they hadn't thawed enough per the waiter. He did cook us another set, and were much better the 2nd round, the cheese dip was not good to me at all. For the price I did not find that the amount you got was worth it. The waiter was friendly but was also a chatter with people at the bar, so took awhile for us to get our bill, and we had to get back to work. The place itself seemed dark and a little grungy. Both of us got little plates that did not look so clean, the waiter even took one plate away and brought another. Do not think we will be visiting here any time soon, but you can make your own decision on...
