Update dropping from a 3 to a 1: Gave them a few more chances, family likes them so tried a few more times. Still slow but a little better on at least giving a good timing. However, tonight just ruined it. Ordered wings and a stromboli to share with my sons, first half of the stromboli was good, but my oldest son bit in and nearly threw up when he found a clump of four long hairs inside. Needless to say we didn't finish our dinner. I've found hairs before in food at places, I get it, it is a sad reality that it happens. Normally it's something you can send back to the kitchen. But when it's not just a single hair but a clump of four, in the meal ordered to share, it doesn't just ruin a single person's night it ruined all of our dishes, and it's 830 at night, knowing it takes them at least an hour or more to get food to us not about to wait for them to get us something else. I tried, I believe in second chances on places but guess this one doesn't make the win.
For what it's worth, I did call and they did process a refund for the meal. So I did leave my review at two vs one star due to service alone but overall I don't think we'll be coming to this place again.
Original Review This was great when we moved in a year ago, we were introduced to it and loved it. But 2 out of the last three experiences just make me feel like the quality of food is not worth the lack of service and consistency.
Our first bad experience came when we ordered a takeout order, a few months ago. Website said 30-45 min, showed up at 50min and ended up sitting in the lobby for over an hour and a half waiting for it. During that time, witnessed employees give varied times to walk-in customers seemingly on purpose to scare them away from ordering, we were told the site was updated to reflect order times and at some point they turned off online ordering but a quick check on our phones proved all that wrong and didn't help our wait.
Tonight. The website said 60min estimated for pickup. I arrived at 55min, expected being a Saturday night for it to be busy like my previous experience. Food was already ready to go. Was pleasantly surprised. Til I got home. It's only a 3 minute drive home so got home, opened it up, and the food was near ice cold. Cheese had that next morning cold pizza hardness to it, crust was tough, and sauce had cooled down so much tasted like it was just pulled out of a pantry and spread over it at room temp. I was 5 min before the website estimated time, and the pizza clearly had been sitting out on that shelf for a while.
The consistency and ineffective means of communicating estimated times is just bad. If you can't get that right, take your online ordering down and only do in store or over the phone where you can communicate the times direct. But even then, after my first bad experience there I can't trust the employees to be accurate with that, as in that case I heard them tell one customer 45-60 min in person then pickup the phone and immediately tell the customer on the phone it was at least a two hour wait due to how busy they were.
If I can't trust your website, can't trust your employees on the phone, at the end of the day I don't think I can keep ordering from there. At least Domino's and Papa John's are accurate on their times, quick and...
Read moreCame out with friends that live in this area to have dinner and watch some football. Let me begin with all the positives about this place: I love the ambiance in there. Neighborhood pizza joint with a bar that has nice flat screens with sports playing always hits that soft spot in my heart. I think the food is generally pretty good. The house dressing for the salad is tasty. The garlic knots are a bit lacking because the premake them in the mornings and reheat them like a lot of places. Our table order pastas, pizza, and I got a meats stromboli. Everyone's food came out at different times. No worries because football is on and I'm still entertained. When my stromboli came out, the whole table oooo'd and ahhhh'd because of how enormous it was. I took a few pictures even to make my friends jealous. Upon cutting into it I realized it was a veggie stromboli. The waitress comes by and takes it away and apologizes for the mix up made in the kitchen. My all meat stromboli was given to another table and they had to remake one on the fly. By the time my actual stromboli came out, my friends had already finished their meal so they sat there staring at me eating. As I cut through the middle of the stromboli, the cheese isn't even melted and the meats are cold. When I inform the server, she gives me the 2 options of either having them reheat this one more or she can take it off the bill. So I have her reheat it more but the rest of my party has been done eating for 30 minutes and becoming restless. I ask the server to just take it off my bill since it took too long to come out and she starts to take the plate away from me. She informs me that the owner said if they take it off the bill they have to throw it away. She apologizes because I sat for 90 minutes and got to eat 2 bites of food that were cold. I would understand this policy if I had ordered something that I just didn't like, or if it was a mistake I made with an order, but the kitchen messed up twice. And they wasted 90 minutes of my time. I don't know what ownership or management is thinking here, but the cost of a stromboli that went into the trash anyway, isn't worth the reputation of being cheap, greedy, and unfriendly. You guys made the mistakes, don't punish your...
Read moreI'm giving it a 3 because Willie deserves a 5 and Joe a 0! My boyfriend and I used to love Pesaro's, burnt sauce less food and poor management had changed our mind. We order take out an from them an average of 4-5 a month and last night was unacceptable. After a 15 hour day of work called in an order for two dinners and was told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes later and had to wait another 15 minutes, I'm a patient person and also a restaurant manager so I understand things happen. When we get home to eat dinner I was in complete shock!! The garlic knots were burnt, who would serve this and think its ok?? The pasta had NO sauce and was missing the extra sauce I requested on the side when I placed the order. I tried calling but unfortunately they had closed for the evening. I called when they opened and spoke with Joe, NO HELP at all!! Said I should have brought the food back last night, right....when you were closed....I can never imagine treating a guest in my restaurant with such ignorance. I told him we ordered there often and I took pictures of what we were served and didn't think writing a negative review was fair without giving him the option to make things right. He offered a 50% discount on out next order (which was still not good management practices), but ok we eat there often enough. I called in an order tonight to be told it was only 50% off the original sauce less dish. I still had a hard time posting this because I'm in the industry so I called back to speak to another manager with my concern and Willie went out of his way to make things right. Poor management and accountability would have lost loyal customers but Willie made things right. Word of mouth can make or break you so I suggest they change their ways and let Willie handle any front of house issues. The pictures included are from the first experience...Thank You Willie for making...
