I am giving 2 stars ONLY because the pizza is ok; otherwise, it would have been minus 1 star. I have been here twice in the past month (Jan 2020). The first time was a weekday and not too crowded. The tables were dirty and the workers were ambivalent. The girl doing the dough, she was doing my dough and dropped it into the back of the thing that flattens it, THEN proceeded to try and give it to me. Ah, no thanks - I said, I don't want that one, she rolled her eyes and said, oh it is clean. I'm looking at the machine and I didn't want one that fell into the machine. She proceeded to put it for someone else to use. I then had to ask her to change her gloves, as she had touched all the machines and then wanted to make my pizza. I went to the dining area to wait for my pizza and all the tables were dirty; I had to swab down one just to eat at it! The pizza was ok, nothing special.
Second (and LAST trip here). It was a Saturday afternoon and it was busy. And, unbelievably slow. Only 5 people in front of us, yet they line just wouldnt move. The kids who work here have attitudes like they are too good to be on this Earth. They are very unfriendly and act like they are doing you a favor making your pizza - NEWS FLASH, I am doing YOU a favor by coming here and giving you money to make me a pizza.
The guy who was doing the veggies had put a LOT of mushrooms on the pizza before me. Then he went and smashed dough on the machine, and came to make my pizza. I didn't want mushroom hands on my pizza (I'm allergic) so I asked for a glove change. ALSO, all the workers there seem to think it is ok to sniff, then wipe their nose with their wrist. It's gross - positively gross, and another reason I ask for a glove-change.
When I got to the cashier, I had gotten a plain pizza and a special one. The bill came to $26 (I also got drinks) and I questioned it. He mumbled something unrecognizable and unintelligible. I argued a bit and he said that was right, but I knew it was wrong. Finally, an African-American guy came over (the manager, I think), and fixed it; the guy had overcharged me for the plain pizza. The African-American guy is the ONLY person there who showed any interest in running this place smoothly. Also, the guy on the cash register did NOT know how to do credit cards. I watched him JAM the person's before card into the reader, then told her it didn't work. She argued, and he just had a blank look on his face. I didn't have cash, and he did the same to me - I said try again, and he did and it worked. He just didn't know how to do it. And, HE is handling the payments? Ugh.
When I ordered my pizza, I twice said - EXTRA crispy. The person shouted it to the oven-guy, who ignored it. It was reiterated a third time, and when my pizza was delivered to me, it was doughy and barely cooked - much less cooked "well done". And, BOTH times I have come here, they don't even know how to cut a pizza. Seriously? That is NOT rocket science. Down the middle; then quartered, the cut once more and all pieces are even. Nope, not here - there are tiny pieces and huge pieces. It makes you laugh.
The pizza is good, for what it is - cooked quick and fast food. It's not gourmet, and I didn't expect it to be. But, it should have been prepared how I asked.
I have been to this chain in other places in Florida, as well as the one just like them (Blaze) and the pizza and places are always swift, efficient, and pizza is good. But, this one - OMG, avoid it at all costs. The workers just DO NOT care about the place and it's dirty.
So, I am going to try and come up with something good to say. Hummmm, let's see... well, the free parking is nice and the soda machine works. That's the best I can do.
I won't come here again. Two strikes and you are OUT. I feel sorry for the one competent person, the African-American guy, he needs to clean house (literally) and get ALL new workers who are pleasant AND know how to work a cash register and...
Read moreI have in the past enjoyed Pieology many times, however, today was a very forgettable experience for me in the Miami store. Im a deep dish pizza fan. I ordered your deep dish pizza. After waiting for over 20 minutes for it to be served, the pizza arrived burnt to the table. The server attempted to explain that it was supposed to be a little crispy around the edges but this thing was chard...literally burnt black all around the edges, pepperonis included. I tasted the pizza but found it was crispy, like having toast with some burnt cheese on it. I then proceeded to return the pizza and the attendant offered to make me another pie. I refused the new pie as I had already spent most of my lunch break waiting for the burnt one. The attendant offered to refund my money and a coupon for a free pizza another time. I thought that was generous and I accepted. I then had to wait a while longer while someone located the manager. When he arrived he never made eye contact, nor asked a name...basically no customer service basic skills. He refunded the money, but never gave me the coupon as dicussed with the attendant earlier. Needles to say I am very disappointed that I received a sub-par product that actually costs more than the other pizzas they offer, and the customer service was poor from the manager. Its disappointing that aside from wasting my entire lunch break to go to Pielogy, I end up paying more and got so much less for it, but what I am mostly bothered by was the indifference of the manager in the matter. This store may have lost me...
Read moreFirst time having Pieology after the rave reviews I hear about it all the time . I have no idea what anyone was talking about because my experience was far from what I expected . First mistake , ordering online as my first time there. I arrive five minutes after my order was supposed to be ready , didn't get my order until 20 minutes later after being asked 4 times what my name was, and being ignored afterwards. A younger gentleman by a name I cannot pronounce ( starts with an I) was chatting with his coworker Edith so much that he didn't realize my order was done before I even got there .
They checked my boxes before I left and saw an old, cold pizza, and one of them nearly destroyed ....I have a new baby at home and don't care , I need food .
I go home, the pizza was cut so badly , I had to rip 4 whole pizzas myself my hand....most slices had more than HALF the cheese gone .... Pizza tasted like little ceasar's....the only reason why I give it 2 and not one stars is because I want to give it one more chance as a dine in experience.....hopefully you guys train your employees to at least acknowledge customers when they approach the counter . One young African American lady was exceptional, however, and was preoccupied at the register .
Edit Also a very annoying pet peeve of mine, is when a restaurant's online system doesn't update with their current stock , and no one bothers calling me to tell me they are out of a key ingredient in one of the pizzas until...
