I move to the area over the summer and had to admit that Pier 220 was for me, one of the best places in the area. Food is your standard menu, nothing extravagant, but it was good, ambiance and view was good too, so every time we had someone visiting, we would take them to Pier 220 and Saturday, 1/27 was no exception. Had friends visiting for the first time, the place was packed because there was a live band playing outside. We asked the waiter that was outside if he had any one leaving soon and he pointed us to table so we just waited. We waited and waited and just chill, but did noticed that the table that the gentlemen pointed and another table the people werent leaving, they were just standing by the tables with the same drinks for about 30 minutes and no one was saying nothing to them nor were they being courteous to give up the tables even though they were just standing around them dancing.... We walked up to the host and I asked how long the wait and she said "can you wait 10 minutes" and I jokingly said "not really" smiled then told her "thats fine" I did also told her that i worked for their delivery provider and see if they can help me out with the table (i have 2 witness with me).We then walked back out to the spot we were in previously and about 5-10 minutes later this guy comes out and asks me for my name, I gave to him (i thought it was to tell us about a table opening up) but then he proceeded to asked me for my last name, i gave it to him too, but thought it was an odd question, then he starts telling me that i was giving his waitress a hard time and that 2 of them complained i was i in shock because I didn't know what that was about, then my wife and friend (who both went to the host booth with me and herd me talk to host) both interjected in shock in how condescending this guy was and how in no way, shape or form none of us had given the waitres a hard time. We told him that if his staff that sensitive and cannot or do not know how to handle the amount of people there, then its a problem with them and they need to be retrain them. It was unfortunate because we really like this place, but the way the gentlemen came at me (he was the owner btw), in true combative mode ready to report me to my employer, thus why he asked form my name and last name, was embarrassing, uncalled for and unnecessary.
I guess Titusville is not used to handling large volumes of people... Never again will I go to that...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped at Pier 220 in Titusville for a bite to eat on our way to Miami. The restaurant looked promising with a 4.4 google rating and situated right on the waterâs edge where seagulls and dolphins were in high visibility and busy feasting on whatever lurked beneath the waterâs surface. I decided to get a fish sandwich while my husband settled on the fish and chips with coleslaw. At the recommendation of the server, who was very friendly btw, I settled on the blackened mahi mahi sandwich with fries over the fried grouper sandwich. Taste wise the sandwich was mildly flavored and I actually had to add salt. However, what was really disappointing was the portion size, which we were later told was chosen by a set weight. I donât recall seeing this info on the menu or Iâd probably ordered something else. Honestly, I would have preferred a more inexpensive local fish than the name catching mahi or grouper. Instead, half my sandwich contained mahi and the other half was lettuce and bead. At 17.99 I certainly expected something heftier. My recommendation, if youâre hungry, ask more questions and order something that will appease your hunger or go elsewhere. My husband, on the other hand, received a nicely sized âunnamedâ fish portion, but also a minuscule amount, as I had also received, of well-seasoned fries with a decent amount of slaw. I did enjoy the $5 cups of margaritas as it was Margarita Monday. If youâre visiting from out of state or country and the ambience of dining at the waters edge, inside or outside, viewing the daredevil dives of seagulls or the beautiful curvature of dolphins gliding in and out of the waters is on your bucket list then dine here. If this doesnât suit your fancy, youâve experienced it already, and youâre really hungry, you might want to consider going elsewhere. Also, although the site has a veterans memorial tribute, there is no veteranâs discount offered at...
Read moreTo be fully fair with this, we were here to watch the space x launch, and things were extremely busy. That being said, the entire experience was bad enough I had to post
Had the grouper tacos, each of which had one very small piece of grouper. The flavor of the fish was decent, but the tortillas felt and tasted like they were just pulled out of a package. Not heated or toasted at all.
Beans were ok, rice was average but had some hard bits in it like it was scraped off the bottom of the pot.
To top it off, the service was miserable. The place was packed and the wait to long for a table so we got food to go, we were told we could grab any seat outside we could find (there were actually some really nice seats on the dock, so that was great) We were told that it would be 30 to 45 minutes until it was ready, and names wouldn't be called, so we would just have to come back up and check. We watch as food comes out, and regularly check in with them. The first time we went up was actually only about 20 minutes after the order. The waitress wouldn't even check the name, just asked us how long we've been waiting, and said it wasn't ready yet
A bit over an hour after we order my dad is waiting, and finally a different waitress asks him was we had ordered. Turns out the bag that had been sitting there they had lost the ticket on, and it was actually our food. Of course, it was all pretty cold at this point
My mom had fish and chips, it came with a nice piece of fish and she was happy with it. The grouper tacos on the other hand will leave you very hungry.
Location was great, just wish the food and service had been...
