Great option for people to enjoy a quiet neighborhood park, yet large enough for big events. There is plenty of parking throughout the park, using different entrances. No traffic jams. Easily accessible off of main streets, from different angles off Max Brewer bridge.
There are playgrounds for children with clean, safe equipment that is well taken care of. Walking trails that are clean of debris, for daily walks alone, or with pets. Along the trails, there are functional, exercise equipment pieces for fitness enthusiasts to do stomach, leg, and arm reps/exercises. There are also several large, open green space areas for picnics, soccer, kite flying, etc. Along the walking trails, you get to experience beautiful views of the Indian River. Sit or walk and watch the boats go by or watch nature at its finest while enjoying the breeze. There are seats positioned along the trails. Check out King Titus' monument at the far end of the trail at the turn-around loop.
Bathrooms are clean. The pavilion area for hosting shows or events is a nice addition that you don't see...
Read moreI love this park! It's convenient for many reasons. We can take our dog while strolling along the river and they provide bags for pickup, or I can sit and watch the sail boats and manatees. There is a large pavilion and public restrooms next to a wide open field that is sometimes used for events, like concerts or vendors during the Fourth of July fireworks. On one end, under the trees, is a playground for kids, or if the adults want to expend some energy, they can follow along the trail and use the workout stations with things like pull-up bars -my husband's favorite stop. The sidewalk ends at another smaller pavilion on a peninsula right next to the marina, which I find fun to watch the boats come in and out. There are several paved parking lots to choose from, but the one closest to the entrance to Cracker Jack's Restaurant fills up fast with joggers taking on the steep bridge that leads over to Merritt Island. Launching a kayak is easy and if you enjoy fishing you'll have several like-minded people wading in the water near...

And I see they're adding like a work out area that's under construction that should be pretty cool All in all I give this place 4 starts...... 5 if they consider spraying more for bugs and maybe consider adding onto the splash pad as more people visit it it's more and more crowded and BE M MY BIGGEST ISSUE WITH THE SPLASH PAD IS......there is hardly any seating which okay yeah bring your own chair but come on who wants to tote 2-3-4-5 kids to the splash pad and chairs? Lol they're like maybe 5lounge chairs available but they do fill up fast But yeah we enjoy weekend at Sandpoint! **...
