Pioco's Chicken — Restaurant in Florida

I was rudely asked to leave Piocos by the owner Miguel Santana and threatened with cops by his female cousin and another employee I recorded several videos but unable to upload here. The owner claims that he is following the "Department of Sanitation" Law. This statement shows his lack of knowledge and his clear violation of my ADA rights. An establishment can't require you to provide documentation that your animal is trained, and it can't ask you about your disability. However, it can ask you whether your animal is a service animal required for your disability, and it can ask you about the work the animal has been trained to perform. I had to leave the establishment to get reception and access my documents. When I returned the owner refused to look at them and his wanna be owner and the wannabe owner (owner's cousin) said and I quote (translated to English)He does not need to come out and look at your documents and this is his store and he can do anything he wants so you better leave before I call the cops". They allowed themselves to be recorded thinking I did not know my rights or that my dog was not a service dog. Unluckily for them she is. Waited for the cops outside and nothing happened had to return to work. People do not allow anyone to belittle and violate your rights hit them where it hurts the most. Filed my complaint accordingly even before writing this review and hopefully this helps other people whom have been discriminated against and don't know what or how to protect their rights. I've known of this place for years. But only recently have started going. I unfortunately should have been going sooner.

To start, it's very reminiscent of whenever we travel to PR, and I thoroughly enjoy that. It makes me feel good and knowing the food will always be a knock out.

We usually go for the lunch special for the half chicken, which is an incredible deal for the amount of food you get. The chicken is always super tasty, incredibly moist and well seasoned. Not overseasoned at all. It is roasted and gives it that Smokey flavor. That one looks for in a good roast.

Moving on to the rice and beans, the beans are very good. Well seasoned, not overpowering and feel as if if your friend's mom made them, they don't feel rushed, same goes with the rice, good consistency and not dried out.

Pair with a Malta and it's a great time. You can definitely eat under $12 during lunch. Including drink, and the family deals are very good if your not trying to cook, just call in advance.

Also they speak both English and Spanish, don't be afraid to ask, they'll tell what everything is.

I also had a newer sandwich called "El charlatan", which basically a massive meat lovers sandwich, chicharron in there, for a massive crunch. I forgot the other two but it's quite something.

Overall, great spot, not expensive and filling. Flavorful for sure, and there quick. What more could...

This has been the second time waiting in line for 1/2 hour and when I gave my order they said it would be 20 minutes for the chicken then they took my name & added it to a list , I waited 15 more minutes and noticed they took out some chicken and started giving it to customers that came in after me. I spoke to the cashier about the situation and she spoke with the server who served a few more chickens then gave the cashier mine. All together I was there approximately 45 minutes. Their system of taking orders and giving the orders taken doesn't work, they don't pay attention to the customers. Today when I went (6/15/17), waited in line for 25 minutes, when my order was being taken they said it would be 20 minutes before the chicken was done. When the server said it would be 20 minutes I shook my head and walked out. The people in charge need to evaluate this situation and let the czee5ustomer's know that are in line ahead of time what is the waiting time for the chicken. My wife had tge same problem and she was there close to an hour and was told that there was going to be a 20 minute wait which my wife said you should let the customers ahead of time not when they are going to order and my wife just walked out. Sad situation because the chicken is excellent but the way business is conducted...
