One of the worst jobs/company I’ve ever worked for! Pollo Tropical is constantly understaffed, low pay rates $12/ hr for cashier , $12.50 for line/drive through $15/hr for Team Lead.
Favoritism , gossip , drama & racism is all that that this company seems to participate in. They do not care if you go above and beyond they will use you and discard whenever if they do not like you or your skin color. I’ve personally experienced racism and not much was done when reported other than gossiping about a situation that was supposed to be confidential between managers and an employee. Pollo Tropical has no respect for employees.
I’ve worked at a multiple stores and most have had physical fights/assaults regarding employees & gossip . I’ve witnessed 3 fights with my own eyes smh. They will send you to multiple stores randomly to help out but refuse to help the stores that are severely understaffed in “certain areas”.
One of the stores i worked at 2 minors age (16) got into a Physical Domestic fight in March 2023 in front of multiple customers during a rush and once i reported it to my GM manager nothing was done I was told “Not to say anything to upper management” and it was just swept under the rug with a false report that was written with lies the minors parents were not notified as well ! Meanwhile the GM walks around everyday making inappropriate/sexual comments and choosing to be petty towards people they don’t like and lying for no reason but expects us to show the top tier customer service and when it’s not done to their Satisfaction you’ll be written up.
Upper Management RM & HR does not care about employees they only care about how much money the store is bringing in so if you only have 2 people for close including 1 manager and 1 cashier good luck because they will make you work regardless even if you don’t have the proper staff to help clean and close properly you will be left to do everything yourself and they won’t hesitate to write you up over nonsense or if you close a few minutes early due to...
Read moreWorst Pollo around. Chipotle was WAY faster and food quality was WAY better. For starters, I love this chain. I have been eating at the one in Cape Coral for years. When this one opened I was so excited because it was close to where I work and live so I could go anytime I wanted. It started out good and now it's awful. My last visit and my LAST visit, on August 15th for lunch, was by far the worst experience I have had. The drive thru looked like it was backed up so I parked and went in. I only stood in line apprx. 5 minutes and placed my to-go order and paid. I ordered my norm, small chicken TropiChop, thats it, nothing fancy or difficult to prepare. After about 15 minutes I was now surrounded by other people who placed their order shortly after I did. While waiting I noticed that a main fearure had been removed. The sauce bar is gone, what makes this place bring me in when Chipotle is right across the lot. Gone. I waited another 10 minutes and now our group was starting to get frustrated. I gave it 5 more minutes and finally had enough. I know when you wait and get frustrated time can getvaway from you, but I had my receipt and my watch. No exaggeration here. Finally I had enough. I asked the manager, some dude with long skinny braids, to just void my order and give me my money back. Not a word, not a "sorry", not a "I will get someone right on this," nothing. Just handed me my new receipt and moved on. I walked straight across the lot to Chipotle and ordered, paid and had my food in less than 5 minutes. They were JUST as busy. Read moreI am in shock on how an employee here - "KATHY" not sure if that's her real name as her name tag was not visible and a co-worker hesitated on telling me her name... treated a costumer. To begin with, she was being rude to all but to this man in particular she was extra rude! The man after ordering his food noticed that the cashier had marked his food as "eat-in" he was trying to tell KATHY (the one putting the orders together) that his order was "to-go". His English was broken but everyone in line and myself included, could understand him say "to-go" ... I jumped in to translate since she did not want to listen to him and she started complaining on why he didn't say something earlier ... before she prepared the plate ... I explained that he attempted to but you cut him off because you don't speak Spanish!!! She proceeded to grab his plate get a container and just throw food in it... closed container, throw it into a bag and tossed the bag on the counter ... EVERYONE in line, the cashier and myself were in complete disbelief !!!! The manager was there and I'm hoping she didn't see it but I want to say she did and disregarded the behavior because they were extremely busy ... I hope this is not a regular way this location treats people ... I hope "Kathy" feels remorse that she treated this man in such a nasty way ... I hope she is not treated the way she treated this man and disrespected all others watching ... I hope i am not the only one reporting this ...
