Visited the neighborhood McGregor Grill, great food and spirits.
We have been coming here for years. You can not go wrong with anything on their menu. We absolutely love â¤ď¸ their salads and their regular and turkey reuben sandwiches, I â¤ď¸ their rye bread. The spicy Italian sausage sandwich has a little kick, just to name a few favs. Love the chips with artichoke appetizer dip. You can't go wrong with any of their sides they have every type of fry, shoestring, steak, tots, chips, and mashed potatoes as well as onion rings, slaw and more, they are all really good. They have a full bar, local beers as well as all the favorites.
If you want to take a break from all your worries....sometimes you want to go where everyone knows your name, it's this place. There are a couple of guys, the cook and bartender/waiter, that keep this place humming along. They are on top of everything and never miss a beat.
They are advertising for help right now (5/17/25). If anyone is looking for a great place to work, that's always busy. The patrons are always nice and respectful. Everyone is always happy with their order, and the atmosphere is welcoming, comfortable, and fun.
They always end your meal with a personal touch of Andes Mints, a perfect yummy touch. The pictures of the mints are from Andies site, I ate them before I could take a picture. No self-control, sorry.
Would we go again? Most certainly!
We did, we went again today! Beer battered shrimp with tots, Antipasto Salad, their salads are very good! My son got the mushroom Swiss burger, with mushrooms & Swiss with steak fries, guess who won the dinner choices today? I am sure you guessed, it shows ALL over his face! Man was he loving it!!! We also got the chips and salsa & queso. Forgot to take the picture of them before we ate them!
Prices? Moderate and more than fair for the quality and portions served. They are still looking for help, it's July 2025.
Like and follow for more great places around SWFL...
Read moreVery disappointed. I recently moved to S. Ft Myers and looking for a good, friendly neighborhood bar to have a few drinks and something to eat. I am professional, respectful, polite single female. My first drink arrived quickly and was a good drink. I was then handed over to another bartender I assume because they were getting busy. That bar tender didn't say 'hi', nothing and when I asked for a 2nd drink he couldn't even look at me. I thought strange but oh well. When he brought the 2nd drink I asked to see a menu, he walked away and I didn't get that until 10 minutes later. I worked on my 2nd drink and perused the menu, closed the menu and sat it in front and waited, and waited, and waited. People around me were getting waited on and food delivered. When my original bartendere walked by I asked to get another drink, he said the other bartender would have to get it. He then told the other bartender who turned to look at me and walked away. I literally waited almost 15 minutes before he came over and again wouldn't look at me and acted like it was an inconvenience for me to take my order. I quickly ordered and asked for another drink. He said something as he walked off and never got the drink. I sat there with the people around me just kind of looking at each other. One of the patrons said that was the OWNER. I sat there for a minute and thought 'why in the world would I allow someone to treat me like that and then help him to make money'. I decided to walk to the end of the bar pay for my 2 drinks and leave. When I saw him at the end of the bar and said I'm going to pay for my 2 drinks and cancel my food order he shrugged and walked away. I paid $11. 50 for 2 drinks, left the .50 + 2.00 tip and walked out. How rude, how disrespectful, don't know if I reminded him of some gal in his life or if he looked at me as a single female that doesn't tip. Which I ALWAYS leave 20%-30% at a bar and more if the service is phenomenal. Was really hoping it would be a good place to go but was disappointed and truly offended in the way I...
Read morevisited this place for lunch a few weeks back, but hadn't had a chance to do a review....
I came here for a late lunch one afternoon around 4 and I was a little ifty on the outside appearances, but I was very impressed on the inside. We walked in and was greeted right away by gentlemen bartender. He advised us we could seat where ever we like and asked us what we would like to drink. After taking and bringing us our beers back he told us some lady would be over. After several minutes later a lady walked by with a handful of dishes asking us if we were ready to order. My thought was "Yes but please go put away your dirty dishes instead of standing at our clean table to take our order, but apparently not everyone thinks that way I see. So after she proceeds to take all three of our orders, and not to mention answering all of our questions and concerns she didn't seem to pleased. She was very unpleasant and bothered (explains why we never seen her again) with us. I take it her hands got tired, but hell no one told you stop with a stack full of dirty dishes in your hand. Just my thought!
So after 45 ridiculous minutes of waiting for our food a new server brought it out. We only ordered a burger, chicken fingers and calamari. My guest wasn't eveb able to completely enjoy their meal because their lunch break was over and had to leave minutes later. Crazy part is there was literally no one in the restaurant when we sat down to order.
Once the food came it was very delicious and favorable but definitely not worth the wait I will say that.
I wasn't sure who I was tipping by the end of my meal, because I had three different people wait on me. Although the first and third guys were great!! So thank you gentlemen, now if you could get the kitchen to get on board...
