I came upon this place on a recommendation from a friend. Upon entering with our party of 6 we were greeted and promptly seated...that is where the experience went south. The restaurant was half full but filling up quickly and we began ordering drinks and apps. The food and drinks were very slow to arrive and sadly the wings and tempura were cold!! We informed the waitress and she said nothing could be done because we all ate some of them. ( we didnt ask for any refund she assumed this). We asked to talk to the manager and heard the waitress tell him about our concerns and he told her just within earshot " I dont care what they want". Upon hearing this we informed the waitress that we were leaving and did so.
Final Thoughts: We noticed the manager and staff handling dozens of to go orders while the in person guests were being neglected; several other guests were vocalizing the same thing.
The problem here was management, they kept taking to go orders and neglected the seated guests which might I add are helping to bring the business back to normal more than the take out crowd who are just hungry and want dinner.
The arrogance of the manager was inexcusable under any circumstances. Instead of managing the business he had he wanted to capture way more than he had the capacity to handle. He should have stopped answering the phones and taken care of the business that was in front of him. I feel bad for the staff who seemed to be trying their best. Our waitress was almost in tears about what we went through and I only hope she finds a better employer soon.
Up to you if you want to take a flyer on this place but dont say you...
Read moreWent in for lunch while in the area. The menu was large and had plenty of options although I didn't notice any lunch specials so I ordered two rolls, the Celebration Roll and the Spicy Salmon Roll.
Both rolls were very good and tasted fresh. The presentations was very nice and the ly both held together very well during dipping and eating. If you've dined somewhere where the chef is less skilled rolls can be flimsy or too loose to handle. Not the case here, very good construction of the rolls.
The wait staff was very pleasant and expedient with drinks and food. As this was lunch, the restaurant wasn't too busy so the service wasn't hindered by too many other customers.
Another tribute to the care put in here, the Aquarium up front was actually well tended too with an assortment of beautiful reef fish, hard and soft corals and a number of invertebrates doing there thing. As an avid reef keeper I really appreciate maintained display tanks and get very discouraged when going into a restaurant and seeing a neglected or struggling tank. The tank here made me want to pull up a chair and lose myself staring into it.
The prices were 18 and 12 respectively, which at first felt a bit high, but after seeing the size of the portions that feeling changed. The rolls were very massive, almost too large for a single bite and may just be for many. But I won't complain about too big when I've had my fair share of skinny pinky sized rolls in the past elsewhere.
I would certainly recommend Sachi Sushi to others when in the area.
Thank you for the good food and...
Read moreI hate to say meh. But, meh. My son and I were in for a quick sushi bar trip. We ordered 2 individual salmon nigiri (which usually comes in sets of 2, not here tho) and each piece was the price of 2 literally. The salmon was stingy, pieces were slim across. We then ordered the Ebi Gyoza which was delish. Then the rolls. We ordered the Hurricane, Sachi and Dancing Eel Roll, pictured in that order. Hurricane was cold and crunchy w a great seaweed salad and I soon found out the the "Creped" Sachi roll was actually a fried egg, I was shocked bc while it was good it wasn't mind blowing. But who doesn't need more protein? Dancing Eel always a fav and no difference here either. Tried Tempura Ice Cream and it was awful. Add a coke and Nigori Sake, w rangoons and clear soup to go and out the door w a surcharge for using a credit card so 122 to 131 immediately. Add in 20% tip and 157 for 2 plus 1 half at home and I was unimpressed at best. We ended on the mid level sushi rolls but they're rolls range from 10 to $25 all day, no lunch, no HH. 👎 Good sushi. Decent. Be prepared to pay big prices tho. And nothing really ambient about a strip mall. Benihana prices in a strip mall location. Scott Joseph I want your job. Coming for you...
