This review and picture was posted on their Facebook page but probably not for long...
Service was ok and we had high hopes after the waitress said the blackened Grouper was the best. Three of us got the Grouper and all three sandwiches consisted of an oversized roll with what appeared to be a Grouper bite or a slightly bigger wedge smothered in lettuce and tomato. The "sides" came in the little one tablespoon size condiment cups.
I'm not kidding when I say the size of the Grouper was barely larger than a quarter. I was in the process of taking a picture of it with a quarter sitting on top when the waitress came over and asked If everything was ok. When I commented on how small it was she said " Oh boy, that is small, let me go tell my manager." The manager, Debbie came over and in an annoyed voice said " You wanted something?" I said I didn't want anything! I'm just taking a picture to share on FB in reference to how small the portions are for the money.
I showed Debbie the Grouper "bite" with the quarter on top for comparison and the look on her face was priceless. Then she said "Oh yeah, I saw that when they brought it out and thought, that's a small portion BUT, I'm sorry, that's the portion you get." Then she just walked away. The whole table just looked at each other in amazement and started laughing. A much better alternative to what I would have done in my younger years.
I travel a lot and love grouper so wherever I go, if they have grouper sandwiches, I'm willing to give it a try and if it's good, I'm the first person to promote the business. I checked the menu and it didn't list a portion weight it just said sandwich. This is by far the smallest portion I have ever gotten on a $15.00 sandwich. From the other reviews on Yelp, that haven't been posted by employees... It appears this is not an isolated incident. The worse thing was the managers attitude about it. I didn't expect to have our meals comped but a larger peice of fish would have been nice or maybe a half hearted offer of a reduction in our $80.00 bill. Nope! Just walks away.
They say first impressions are everything and a picture is worth a thousand words. The pics and my review are now circulating FB and several other...
Read moreUsed to be five star rating before I moved out of Florida. I again was embarrassed because one manager Angie/Angel felt she didn't want to have paying patrons on a Sunday evening. I doubt I'll be back I've moved out of the state to be with my fiance who hopefully will return from his deployment with the US Army sometime in December 2018.Please pray for him even though I only gave you a one-star rating. I had a lot of good times before one woman decided she didn't like me and tried to hurt me and actually did because I enjoyed going there meeting new people and feeling safe! Then because of something evidently this one manager felt I was supposedly barred for 3 months which was over a long time ago. I returned with a friend on a Sunday evening for dinner and again I was told to leave ?!We were both asked to leave or police would be called how ridiculous to call police on somebody that's attending your establishment to get food and pay for it there by allowing you to retain your job! It boggles my mind to this day.
Unfortunately with this one simple action she did take away my ability to make people laugh and listen to their Tales of Woe. I guess that's what they pay bartenders for right Patrick? Unfortunately it hurt me far more than you'll ever know. Love to you Sean best of luck with the business in Apollo Beach! and sorry for your judgment to trust certain managers because they do a terrible job! Of course in my opinion only and that's what these things are all about it's my opinion only well not really because I talk to a lot of people and they feel the same way they're not very accommodating they're not very welcoming unless you come in flashing big money and the certain people think they're going to get a good tip then they'll give you good service however there are also other folks that were very very pleasant and I enjoyed them immensely like I said...
Read moreWhere do I start? We frequent this place and have brought people with us who are from out of town visiting with us. Always 8+ in a group. One instance we ordered the chip battered fish and chips and the batter wasn't cooked all the way. The chef came out and talked with us about it and we suggested that it could have probably stayed in the fryer a little longer. The batter was scraped off and we could barely even eat the fish for fear of getting sick. The chef took half off the meal when it should have been taken off the bill completely. Another time we went was the eve of the St Patrick's day event when only certain items were available from the menu, we ordered drinks and not one time when my husband ordered his drink was it the right drink. It got to the point where he even asked for a good ol' corona and got a corona light which I might add the waitress said she would take off the bill. We got the bill and it was over $100 dollars which I had expected but she didn't give me the itemized bill only the credit card bill so I asked for the itemized bill so I could see exactly what I was getting charged for and when she came back with the itemized bill she brought me back $4.50 in cash for the corona that she had charged me for even after she told me that she would take it off. That blatant "dishonesty" right there turned me right off. And then to be told that the bar staff couldn't make us green drinks even on the eve of st patty's day well that there told me there was no room for customer satisfaction. How do you turn down a customer asking for a small drop off blue curacao to turn her drink green? Anyway, this isn't the first time we've had a not so great experience but the last one did it for me and I will no longer visit or bring anyone to your establishment....
