Subject: CALL 911 & THE FIRE DEPARTMENT! Sonny BBQ is a Culinary Crime Scene!
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (If I Could Give Negative Stars, I Would)
Do not eat here. Do not even look at the food here. My recent visit to Sonny BBQ wasn't just disappointing; it was a full-blown culinary emergency that honestly made me consider dialing 911 to report a crime against taste buds and basic aesthetics.
The "Food" (I Use the Term Loosely):
· Visual Assault: Our plates arrived looking like they'd been assembled during an earthquake by someone wearing a blindfold. The ribs weren't just "fall-off-the-bone," they looked like they'd been thrown off the bone onto the plate with contempt. The brisket resembled discarded shoe leather scraps haphazardly piled in a puddle of congealed, greasy "au jus" that had the texture of motor oil. The coleslaw? A sad, wilted heap that looked like it had been scooped from the bottom of a dumpster. Calling these meals "ugly" is an insult to ugly things everywhere. · Flavor Disaster: The horrific presentation was merely a warning sign for the taste. The ribs tasted like they'd been marinated in liquid smoke and regret, then charred beyond recognition. The brisket was simultaneously dry, tough, and swimming in grease. The baked beans had the texture of mushy cardboard and the personality of dishwater. Every single item tasted like the chef gave up halfway through and just decided to punish the ingredients.
The Chefs: An Impossibility! It isABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE that these "chefs" have ever received formal training, watched a single cooking video, or possess even the most basic understanding of food safety and presentation. The level of incompetence displayed on our plates was staggering. Did they lose a bet? Are they actively trying to sabotage the restaurant? The sheer negligence and lack of skill required to produce food this visually repulsive and gastronomically offensive defies belief. It felt less like a kitchen and more like a hazardous waste site where food goes to die tragically.
The Verdict: Sonny BBQ isn't just bad;it's a public health hazard disguised as a restaurant. The meals were so appallingly constructed and tasted so foul that "calling the authorities" felt like a legitimate course of action. Save yourself the trauma, the nausea, and the overwhelming urge to call 911 for a food rescue. This place needs to be shut down before they inflict more culinary atrocities on an unsuspecting public. Avoid at ALL costs. My eyes (and stomach) may never recover. Pay attention the chicken...
Read moreFirst off Iove Sonny's and the server was fantastic. Said she had been there for years you could tell she was awesome! The manager was very blah and didn't care not one bit. We was sent out cold food twice. Now that's ridiculous.Even after speaking to the manager with a beard. Pinellas park and largo locations would embarrass this location with their eyes closed. I don't like leaving a bad review but when the manager doesn't even care and clearly got offend I sent the food back. He gladly informed me that the cook their onions straws early in the morning and they're not cooked fresh. I asked for fresh onions straws btw that take literally under a minute to cook. Then the manager told me I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to check your plates before they came out again. As a manager if you have a priority or food issue you stand in that kitchen and serve the food yourself to Make sure it's right. I literally told him I don't want a discount I want hot food. He told me the kitchen had already began breaking down. Meanwhile I have been there for over 40 minutes at this point. So I asked to pay for my beer and app so I could leave. How is this guy even a manager he is terrible no personality at all the server cared more and made more of a exciting impact then him. What happened to leading by example and hot food and someone who cares about your experience. I used to eat at Sonny's twice a week in largo or Pinellas park. Palm harbor location is a joke and they will serve you cold food back to back times and not care one second about your experience. Go to Largo or Pinellas Park it's a night and day difference. To top it all off my lady is pregnant and pissed and both of us leaving hungry and pissed. Not...
Read moreI’ve given this place too many chances. The last several times I’ve been there they never get the order correct. I used to love to come through the drive-through at least once a week to get food for my family. Like I said, the last several times, they never get the order correct. I try to check the bags before I leave the drive-through, but it’s impossible to check every single thing. For example, tonight, I ordered a sliced pork sandwich. They gave me pulled pork. They gave me two barbecue sauces for all of the food, the drinks were a little over half filled. It wouldn’t be that big of a deal however, the family member that gets the sliced pork orders that specifically because it’s got the lowest amount of sodium and they have a heart condition. It also is very expensive and to top things off, they automatically give you a slip with 20% or 22% I forget which tip checked off. For a drive-through? I’m not going in for full service and I have to tip 20+ percent for incorrect food? I will not be going back I think fifth times a charm. As a matter of fact, I called the last time. They really screwed up our order and they said they would give me some type of credit, but I wasn’t looking for that. I was just hoping they would correct the situation for the next time. Apparently that was too much to ask. PS the generated pre-populated response about sending an email and someone will get in touch with you. Don’t even bother. Been there done that no one gets back to you. No one cares lol. it’s embarrassing and a total waste of time I’m not looking...
