Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Florida

DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!!! I seriously can't stress this enough! My fiancé and I went here on November 17th at roughly 330AM. First off when we came in it took about 5 minutes to be seated. Mind you, we were the only people in the restaurant. Wanna know why? Because the two people working, the waitress and a manager, were in the back talking and even waived at us when we walked in, but didn't come up to seat us. Finally were seated and another 5 minutes goes by before the waitress comes to take our drinks. Everything was fine, we ordered our drinks and our meals and then shortly after the waitress comes by our table and asks if we're paying with cash or card. We told her card and then she proceeds to tell us that their POS system (aka their registers) are down, and because they're down we can still pay with our cards, but we can't leave a tip. Now I've worked in the food industry for close to 7 years now so I am well aware that this is not possible. If the POS system is down then you can not pay with a card PERIOD. She then tells us that if she could just take our card and write down our card number, expiration date, etc. she could ring in her own tip later when it's working again. Excuse me, what did you just say? I of course blurted out that that would NOT be happeneing and that I have enough cash to leave her a cash tip. Apparently that satisfied her enough and she left us alone. Then, while we were eating she shouts at us from across the restaurant "Is it okay with you guys if I take a smoke break?" My fiancé and I just sat there in shock, we just nodded our heads and out went her AND the manager to have a smoke break. How do they know we're not stealing money out of the register? Or spitting in the food?? Then, when we were ready to leave the waitress asked for our card and told us she was going to check us out on the drive thru POS. But wait, I thought your POS system was down? Before we could say anything she had scuttled off to the back of the restaurant and disappeared with our card for a good 5 minutes. It does NOT take 5 minutes to cash someone out. Don't worry, I've called corporate and informed them, but I highly doubt they're going to do anything since it sounded like a dead tired 16 year old answered the phone. I'll be changing my card number today and blasting this on all of steak n shakes social media/review sites! Again, DO NOT GO TO THE STEAK N SHAKE IN BRADENTON FLORIDA...

Tried to go through their drive thru for lunch. I get an hour . I sat in the drive thru their for more than 25 minutes. There were absolutely zero cars in the parking lot, aside from the two who they had asked to park in the lit to wait for their orders. I mentioned to the manager at the window, that they were very slow today, to which he snapped " we are really busy right now" I looked around the lot again... zero patrons inside the restuarant. Needless to say it was more of an inconvenience than a pleasure. If you cannot make hamburgers fast enough to satisfy customers when the restuarant isempty, you should probably stop wasting peoples time and close the store for good. I will not be eating there again for lunch as I could have been serviced faster at a sit down restaurant. There was a line of cars behind me waiting, some were simply just leaving after ordering because of the extreme wait time. .

THIS RESTAURANT IS FILTHY It is absolutely gross, it stinks, the floor was disgusting and sticky, the walls tables, booths and setting was all filthy and had food and trash everywhere. Bathroom was disgusting, worse than any truck stop gas station. The staff was rude, loud, and refused to wipe anything off. There is absolutely no cleaning done here. This place is a health hazzard. Food was subpar, cold fries, small shake for nearly $3 was flavorless. I will never spend a dime at this dump again. Gross. I SUGGEST YOU GO DIRECTLY TO THE STEAK-N-SHAKE WEBSITE AND LEAVE A REVIEW, I CERTAINLY DID. The staff was pathetic and rude, if I were a manager I would fire every single person on that staff immediately and close the restaurant. I will be contacting the county Health Department and state Health Department. I have video, if anyone wants to see...

I was just at this steak n' shake and i was waiting in the drive thru for 35 minutes while there were only 2 cars in front of me. when i finally got up to the speaker, the boy who answered was very rude. he said this restaurant was out of regular sized cups and that they didn't have any chicken tenders, he rose his voice at me and acted very defensive as if i should have already known. we ended up having to get chicken bites instead and two kids drinks because they also ran out of regular sized cups. when i finally got up to the window, he looked very young and he gave me a dirty look. i gave him my card and payed then he told me to pull up my vehicle even though there was no need because there were only three cars in total in the drive thru. after waiting another 20 minutes he comes out with food that is for the people behind us. i asked him why and he said that they had less food. when he finally gave us our food, it was cold and there was barely anything there. my boyfriend and i ended up having to get out of the car and talk to the manager even though we had somewhere we needed to be. the manager herself didnt say sorry once and acted like our problem was no big deal. ive been to steak n' shakes in the past and never had a problem until now. i thought that it might have been because they were busy but there were hardly anyone inside. i was very disappointed because we were looking forward to eating here since we've never been to this...
