DO NOT COME TO THIS STAKE AND SHAKE!!!! don’t say i didn’t warn you… and honestly by the looks of the previous reviews i guess i’m the one to blame for. i should have not taken the advice of others!!!!!!!
I AM BEYOND UPSET. to the point i was about to get physical bc of how rude they treat customers.
i was craving a late night milkshake and i was also in the mood for a burger and fries, i placed my order through the drive thru and when ordering my burger i said NO pickles, the associate confirmed no pickles when paying for the order. it took them at least 30 mins to get my food to my car.. 30 MINUTES on a burger and a side of fries with a milkshake order!!!!.
i can’t make this stuff up, when the associate brought the food out the first thing i did was verify that the burger had no pickles and to my surprise IT DID. i kindly ask the associate which by the way his name is JOHN. that i said no pickles on the burger and the fries were LEGIT cold, not even warm. JOHN decides to go back and fourth saying “you said no onions” and i repeated “no, i said no pickles. he then proceeds to say “i know what i said” and honestly i told him i’m not tryna argue or go back and forth please remake my order fresh. so he walks away.. while waiting AGAIN. i decide to taste the milkshake and you would not believe how hard it was to sip from the straw. the milkshake was FROZEN. i wasn’t even able to stir the milkshake like a normal one from any other fast food.
I was tired of waiting so i decided to go inside you ask for a refund and upon going inside, i was being discriminated by the associates because i “looked” a certain way but it was definitely because i’m a GAY male. while speaking to the shift manager which by the way her name is JENNIFER OR JEANNETTE . one of the two. the staff were laughing in the back and talking about me as if i was not able to hear them. One of the girls even made a slick remark “does he want it to be like water” and honestly that was unnecessary. a milkshake is suppose to be semi milky.. you should be able to sip it and not have to wait for it to defrost. THE shift leader has no authority over here staff. she was allowing them to disrespect me and make jokes and laugh about the situation that really wasn’t even funny. the shift leader was also extremely unprofessional and unfortunately you are the role model, so when your LEADER does not convey the appropriate customer service the staff will also fail.
Other guests had also been waiting for their food over 30 mins. and her excuse was that they were “busy”. they had about 8-9 associates in the back, if THE LEADER had proper training on how to handle rush hour or a busy night than the entire issue could have been avoid. she shouldn’t be the shift manager in my opinion.
I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN. and i’ll be calling tomorrow to report them as well. although the company probably won’t even care. VERY SAD! we live in a world that people expect to get a paycheck and the work quality and performance is poor. YOU HAD ONE SIMPLE JOB. and they can’t even do that. I feel bad for the company because employees like that...
Read moreRacism exist even in the Hispanic community which is sad.
It is unfortunate that racism still exists even within the Hispanic community. I recently had an unpleasant experience at Steak 'n Shake, a place I frequent for their fresh grilled burgers and reasonable prices. I placed my order at 10 am with the intention of consuming the food and beverage later.
Around 11 am, I decided to enjoy my meal outside the establishment to avoid any employee interactions. I observed a white couple receiving a refill after ordering through the drive-through and casually leaving with their drink. I attempted to do the same, but to my surprise, the employees locked the machine and demanded my ticket number. I provided the number at the top of my ticket, which was 500, but the lady accused me of lying. Nevertheless, I patiently provided all the exact details of my order. Instead of resolving the issue, the lady walked away, and the manager or franchise representative came out and asked for my receipt. I couldn't help but notice that none of this was asked of the white couple.
In an effort to prove my purchase, I went back to my car to retrieve the receipt. Even though my original cup was still full of ice from my 10 am purchase, the employee raised a new issue regarding the time of my order. I remained calm and stated that I was willing to purchase another drink just for the refill. Despite my willingness to cooperate, I was continuously belittled by the employee. It's disheartening to think that all this trouble was over a simple refill, something that would have taken only 10 seconds, with my cup still half-filled with sprite due to the morning ice.
After purchasing another drink, I stayed at the location for an hour and refilled my cup three times. It's frustrating to think that they treated me poorly over a mere $1.41, especially when I leave more than that as a tip whenever I visit Steak 'n Shake.
This entire experience left me feeling deeply upset and disappointed. I had the proof of my purchase, yet the customer service at this establishment treated me as if I was a liar. If Ericka is the store owner, I must say shame on her for allowing such treatment to persist. I have decided not to return to this location...
Read moreSteak and Shake has always been known for a tasty steak burger with a numerous blend of spices, seasonings, and sauces available served on the meat, which has always added that extra form of "Food Zen" to your tongue.!!! ... and to this day, they still do, but on a much smaller scale.!!?! ...😐😶😐... As thier prices went up, thier burgers went down in size and quality.!!! After talking with a line cook during my visit, he explained how during his years as a cook there, the only thing that has been consistent, are the French Fries.!!! The shakes apparently now use a "whole milk blend (had to look that up, a liquid filler is added to the whole milk at various percentages, depending on the manufacturer which thin out the whole milk to make the whole-sale cost to the restaurants go down while the retail cost either stays the same or goes up for a higher profit) instead of whole milk, the consumer never notices the taste variance because of all the superficial flavorings and the high amount of added sugar.!!! ... and even the steak burgers have decreased in size (from what I was told by the line cook) by around an oz to 11/2ozs and using a lower quality, high fat content steak (for which they're apparently told that it adds flavour to the meat but increases the heart attack value to the consumer).!!! 😶 Food wise... the burgers and fries are still really good, but not in any way healthy for your heart.! As for the rest of the restaurants... Service has always been decent with mostly attentive and very friendly servers, but the cleanliness has been steadily going downhill, especially in the filthy restrooms, the (what looks like) unmopped dining area floors and the sticky table and seating areas in the sining area.!!! So of you love thier food, get it ToGo or make it yourself for around 1/3 the cost on your...
