This place leaves much to be desired. I was there twice, not by choice and NEVER again. It is cheap - not in the sense of inexpensive, which it is - but just cheap. Environment is cheap. Furnishings are cheap. Menu is cheap. Food is cheap. Service is cheap.
Both times there were only two tables taken at lunchtime. Omen missed?
After waiting FORTY minutes and still no food, a simple order, certainly not a culinary challenge nor adventure - a salad, a sandwich, and an omelette, really a no brainer - I caught the server’s attention and asked if she could check on our orders as we had already been waiting 40 minutes. She looked at me with an air of self-righteousness and unequivocally announced, “I did my MY job. I gave the order to the kitchen. It’s in their hands. “ To myself, “Whaaat? Are you serious?”
When I asked if she could please follow up she grudgingly ambled to the kitchen.
A sometime patron with whom I shared this adventure knew exactly who I was talking about. You get what you pay for. As for me? Ciao forever! But ,hey, who was the chump? Me! I left her the standard tip, far more than she deserved. Maybe Forrest Gump was right when he drawled, “Stupid is as stupid...
Read moreI don't like hair in my mashed potatoes! Group of 6. We took my mother in law here yesterday for Mother's Day - not my idea. I ordered steak (medium), mashed potatoes with gravy and chicken soup. The steak was bland but cooked properly. The gravy on the potatoes was very dark which was suspicious. My first thought was that it was old. Then I thought, well maybe it's "beef" gravy? They were out of rice and the only veggie they had was cooked carrots. Frustrated that Susie's Too was out of the side I preferred and didn't have another veggie option, I settled for the abovementioned. The server had just walked up behind me to service the table. I took another fork full on potatoes to eat and saw a long stran of hair dangling. I'm done! The server stayed calm and took the plate away. She returned, apologized and removed the order from our check.
No manager came to apologize or to offer to retain our business. I wonder...does management care about the unsatisfied customers? This was my first and last visit to this establishment.
This rating does not include our server. She...
Read moreVisited here for the first time on a Saturday morning/early afternoon. It was fairly busy, but the only wait was for them to seat others in front of us.
They had a nice list of breakfast and lunch specials. Breakfast prices were really good! 2 eggs, 3 bacon, hash browns, and toast is only $4.50. My wife got a pressed Cuban, which was on the lunch special menu and came with French fries and coleslaw for $7.50.
The food is what it is. There's really no other way to describe it. It's exactly what you expect, nothing more, nothing less.
The service is good, again, what you would expect, nothing more, nothing less. For example, they had a breakfast special called a Mexican Breakfast Burrito. We asked what was in it, and the server didn't know, but said she would find out. She was quickly back to let us know, but didn't know what special were to begin with.
I'd recommend this place for a weekend breakfast spot, good diner food if you wake up feeling the effects of a fun...
