First time there. Menu was not very legible. Menu/staff not easy to understand for English-only speaking customers. My husband ordered 3 different Tacos. Two had nothing on them except the lil bit of meat. Third one was the famous one, but still small. Food did not come with salsa, and did not come with consome. He left hungry. Prices are not cheap. I tried the vanilla ice cream. It was just okay, but weird and I could not finish it...too weird. Okay, the good things are the very friendly staff, nice clean and bright little place, parking, and they have real Coke from Mexico with cane sugar. Three millennials came in to have a working dinner next to us and they raved about the Ramen with beef broth. This restaurant used to be a food truck and just recently took over the space that had been 4 different things in 2 years on Memorial (east side, corner), between Rocky Point and Longbar. I will try it again now that I am more familiar with the concept. Oh, and there are 3 different prices on their print and online menus. (?) I hope this time is the charm at this location, for this very hard working family restaurant! They do work with grubhub and other food delivery services.

When they first started, I LOVED them. Once they started expanding to memorial and then the one in Fiesta plaza, they became very inconsistent. I know they move employees from different locations and that may be it because they are always hiring and short staffed. But if you cannot deliver service, maybe you need to cut back on locations. What’s the point on having 3 locations providing mediocre service. The people are always nice. But the food has been beyond horrible for a while now. Consome is watered down, half cups of esquite and after this last one it was clear they just dnt give a damn what they serve as long as something goes out. How can you willingly send something completely inedible out like this? This is more than just negligence. The Cali Rolls were beyond burnt. Like the chicken inside would crumble as you broke it in half. These bad experiences were from the memorial highway location and the Armenia truck. The fiesta plaza location has always been out of EVERYTHING every time we’ve went. It takes a lot for me to give a bad review, but this place is going down hill and they dnt care.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tacos Las Californias, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. From the moment I walked in, the inviting ambiance and friendly staff made me feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the birria. Oh my goodness, it was simply mouthwatering! The flavors were incredibly rich and authentic, and the tender meat just melted in my mouth. I couldn't get enough of it! While I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, I couldn't help but think that it would be great if Tacos Las Californias had a kids menu. It would be wonderful to see a selection of dishes tailored to little ones' tastes. Overall, Tacos Las Californias is a true gem. The delicious birria alone is worth the visit, and the warm and welcoming atmosphere only adds to the experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine.

Title: An Enchanting Culinary Adventure - Las California's Quesa Birria Tacos!

If you're in search of a gastronomic oasis in Tampa, Florida, make your way to Las California's on Memorial Highway. I had the pleasure of embarking on a culinary journey there recently, and I must say, their Quesa Birria Tacos were an absolute revelation!

From the moment I stepped foot into Las California's, I was greeted with an inviting ambiance that exuded warmth and charm. The tantalizing aroma of slow-cooked meats and vibrant spices instantly transported me to the heart of Mexico.

The Quesa Birria Tacos were nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. Each tender morsel of perfectly seasoned beef melted in my mouth, complemented flawlessly by the velvety smoothness of the melted cheese. The delicate yet sturdy tortillas cradled this symphony of flavors, allowing every bite to be an enchanting experience.

The pièce de résistance was the luscious birria consommé dipping sauce. It was like an elixir of flavors, adding an ethereal depth to each taco and leaving me utterly captivated. Every drop of the consommé was savored, as it elevated the entire dining experience to a sublime level of indulgence.

The culinary artistry was evident in every detail of the Quesa Birria Tacos. The balance of textures and the artful presentation reflected the care and passion that went into creating this extraordinary dish. The combination of colors and ingredients harmoniously united to create an enchanting feast for the senses.

But it wasn't just the food that left a lasting impression; the hospitality at Las California's was equally exceptional. The attentive and gracious staff ensured that every need was met, making the dining experience all the more delightful.

Las California's ambiance and decor further enhanced the overall experience, transporting me to a quaint Mexican cantina where every corner exuded authenticity and charm.

In sum, my visit to Las California's was an enchanting culinary adventure that I will cherish forever. Their Quesa Birria Tacos have earned a permanent place in my heart, and I can't wait to return for another magical experience.

If you're seeking an extraordinary dining experience that celebrates the art of Mexican cuisine, look no further than Las California's on Memorial Highway in Tampa, Florida. It's a culinary haven that will leave you spellbound with their Quesa Birria Tacos and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Gracias, Las California's, for an unforgettable dining experience that transcended expectations and awakened my taste buds to pure bliss!

Sincerely, [A Grateful...

Update: they charge you for guacamole but give you a guacamole-tasting sauce? Not real guacamole obviously. I’m literally never going back after they tried to convince us they put the “guacamole and sour cream” in the burrito we asked for.

Update 6/24: it’s “avocado purée “ not guacamole. Nice.

Man I really wanted to like this place. I’ve now gone three times and each time has been 5/10 encounter.

First, every time I’m in this location it looks like a rush just came through; dirty tables, garbage on the floor, seats everywhere…definitely not inviting which is why I take it to go every time.

I lived in San Diego for 5 years, so when I saw a place I could get my SoCal food fix I got excited! But each item I’ve gotten hasn’t been exactly what I was expecting. California burrito uses the wrong (and kinda gross when it’s not melted) cheese, nachos come with raw jalapeños (pickled is traditional), carne and pollo asada is dry and tough, a single $4 shrimp taco comes with only 3 shrimp, and they keep giving me dried-out limes (if you’re a SD native you know limes are essential to enjoying a Mexican meal).

I told so many people how excited I was to find a place with food from my old hometown, but after this last experience I’m just not excited to share this with...
