Taj Mahal Indian Cuisine Inc ā A Revisit After Two Years
I first tried Taj Mahal Indian Cuisine nearly two years ago, and at the time, the food didnāt meet my expectations. However, we recently decided to give it another tryāthis time, we went close to their closing hours, so I wasnāt expecting the food to be fresh. To my surprise, several items exceeded expectations.
Samosa Chaat ā 8/10 The samosa was fresh, and the toppings were crispy and well-balanced. A flavorful and satisfying start to the meal.
Biryani ā 10/10 This was one of the best biryanis Iāve had in South Florida. The portion size was generous, and the dish was rich in tangy, aromatic spices. It was presented beautifully and packed with flavor. Highly recommended!
Nuggets and Fries ā 7/10 The fries were done in a desi styleāspicy, fresh, and crispy. A good choice for kids or those wanting a milder option.
Tikka/BBQ ā 4/10 While the spices were well-marinated into the meat, it wasnāt cooked thoroughly. The color was overly red, which detracted from the appeal. However, the sizzler platter was served with a dramatic flair, and the sizzling sound added a delightful sensory touch.
Keema Naan ā 4/10 This was underwhelming. The keema didnāt seem to be cooked separately and lacked the usual aromatic ingredients like onions or spices. The layer of meat was extremely thin and flavorless.
Malai Kabab (aka Malai Boti) ā 8/10 This isnāt your typical minced seekh-style kababāitās more of a malai boti made from tender chicken breast pieces. Soft, juicy, and marinated to perfection. Great flavor, and it traveled well. Good presentation for a home order too.
Chicken Samosa ā 10/10 Piping hot, perfectly spicy, and freshly friedāthese samosas were a total knockout. The filling had just the right kick, and the crust was flaky and golden. You rarely get this level of freshness with delivery. A must-try if youāre craving a crunchy, flavorful starter.
Rasmalai Dessert ā 10/10 Absolutely delightful! The plate came with four soft pieces soaked in sweet milk and topped with fresh nuts. The sweetness was perfectly balancedānot too overpowering.
Important Note: I noticed that the restaurantās medium spice level is significantly spicier than whatās considered āmediumā at mainstream chains like KFC or Pizza Hut in South Florida. If youāre not accustomed to South Asian spice levels, I would recommend ordering your food mild.

This visit was a mix of highs and lows, but the biryani and dessert alone made it a memorable experience. Definitely worth a visit if youāre craving bold, flavorful South Asian cuisine. This is not a fancy place but some items are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe love this place because the food is excellent and it is very low-key. That being said, the service has much to be desired and it really doesn't feel very clean. Granted, we usually come with a large party of 10-12 people but we always make a reservation days ahead of time and even pre-order over the phone several hours before we arrive. Despite doing this, often the table isn't set up with napkins and eating utensils when we arrive and it will take 15 minutes just for everyone to get waters....and another 10 minutes after that to get a beer or wine. As someone who has been in the restaurant industry for many years, one of the easiest things to do is have a reserved large party table all set up with cutlery and water before they arrive, as well as set up a couple extra pictures of water on the table so that you don't constantly have people asking for more water and having to wait. Along the same lines, once the food does start coming out, it comes out one or two dishes at a time very slowly, and then everybody is sat waiting for the rice or naan bread to come out afterwards. Again, keep in mind that we have pre-ordered so that they know exactly what we're getting and could have the rice and non brought out first on the table so that when they start bringing out the actual entree dishes people can begin eating right away. This is all pretty basic restaurant common sense knowledge which allows restaurants to run smoothly without adding any workload because all these things need to be brought out anyway so you might as well bring them out in the order and the timing that is logical. It makes no sense to bring out a curry which requires rice or bread, And then just let it sit next to the customer while they wait another 20 mine is for everybody else to get there food and then the rice to get brought out
Again, we absolutely love the food in this place and the people are very nice and I would give five stars if it were not for these issues which could so easily be fixed, and I really hope they are so that I can change this review...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI sincerely apologize for saying this - THE RECEPTIONIST WAS PROBABLY DEAFā¦
We ordered a take out and the receptionist was very rude and anything we asked, we had to repeat 3 times for her to still screwup our order in the end.
The paneer tikha was watery, which meant no taste. The tomato soup was oily. And the fried rice had lentils in it! LENTILS IN FRIED RICE!
We told the receptionist that we wanted more garlic in our fried rice and she replied with - yes one garlic naan. I repeated and asked if they put garlic in the fried rice and she replied - we canāt share what we put in.
We asked if the fried rice was like pulav but the receptionist said it was not and that it was fried rice. To make her understand our concern, I mentioned we were looking for something garlicky and a little like the Indian version of fried rice as one of us was sick. We understand it canāt be the same, but lentils in fried rice?!
If you canāt share what you put in our food, you probably should not be working at or running a restaurant.
Even then, absolutely no garlic in the fried rice š¤¦āāļø
WASTE OF MONEY HERE.
We will be going to other Indian restaurants in the area which have better food, better quality, and much better customer service. This was our first time here (AND LAST TIME!) and we only came here for tomato soup, which turned out to be oil tomato mixture - which tasted almost like a different version of rasam or sambhar.
The one star is for...
