I ordered a skirt steak this evening, and it came out WAY over cooked and tough. When I ordered it the waiter asked me how I wanted it cooked, and I told him medium. when it came out was so very, very thin, and way overcooked, far past well done. Honestly it was more like beef jerky than skirt steak! I explained it to the waiter, who went over to tell the manager. The manager was sitting at a table, talking on the phone the entire time we were there. The manager cupped his phone, and told the waiter to tell me, and I quote "they are all that way, and if they make another one, it will be the same way".
As we were leaving, I walked over and showed the manager the steak, and he said that it was the owners fault not his. He explained that the owner was being cheap and cut back on the skirt steak portions and there was nothing he could do. He then went on to say, and I quote again "You complain too much". I told him he must have me mixed up with someone else. He said no, just last week you complained about everything that you ordered. I tried to explain that I had not been there for a few months. He just continued to be very rude, and unapologetic. Reading other reviews, I see the manager is the same way with other customers as well. A manager with a bad attitude towards customers, like this one, can easily cause a place to lose business and eventually close. (EDIT: This place permanently closed a few months later)
As we were leaving a friend of mine did kinda step over the line, calling the manager a choice word as we walked out the door.
Good thing there is Rosalita's, one of the best Mexican restaurants in Palm Beach County!
Edit to add: I want to make it clear that the server we had was very good. Attentive, polite and did a very nice job. Please do not let this review reflect badly on him in any way!
Have a look at the photo's I uploaded of the "Skirt Steak" It is almost as thick as the fork. Yes I am aware of Spanish steaks that are pounded out real thin, but this is a "Skirt Steak", and not supposed to...
Read moreSorry, my review had nothing to do with the food. I only spent 5 minutes in the restaurant after having a server not understanding when I asked three times if they offered some kind of what I have seen called a bandeja. A combo plate or a sampler of some of their entrees, or maybe even a pick two or pick three type of deal. The server kept insisting I was asking for a "snack attack" like I was ordering sports bar food.
Then another server abruptly interrupted holding chips and salsa, impatiently waiting on me and my friend to move our menus to put them on the table. That's when I got fed up and said I was leaving. We had ordered drinks so far a beer and a soda and the server was mostly concerned saying to us, "You're going to pay for that right?"
It was my first time visiting the restaurant and I have driven by it for over two decades. Had lots of good words told to me over the years about the place. I saw that they are doing so well they opened a second location.
I don't know maybe if that sampler or combo were on the menu, I would not have gotten into the conversation that started the whole. Maybe my expectations were too high or my understanding of Mexican restaurant menus are not clear.
Without question, this was the worst service I've ever gotten in my life. I hate giving bad reviews and if you see I don't give them at all. Unfortunately this was...
Read moreI went with a friend who referred me. We started with a meal at 3:30 PM on Saturday February 1, 2020. We drank a house margarita for $5.50 (Non-Happy Hour Price). We did a shot of SOUZA for $8 each. At 4pm, happy hour started. (Happy Hour is 4pm - 7:30pm Daily). We continued house margaritas at $3.50 each for a while. We purchased a pitcher of margaritas and had 1 more shot. Bill was $127.58. I gave $153 with tip. I ordered the Chicken Fajitas and they were very tasty. My friend ordered 1 item combo. The Hot Salsa & Warm Black Bean Dip is the best. The spicy salsa has a hint of Jalapeno seeds, Tomatoes, Cilantro and Goodness... The mens bathroom looks like a bathroom from a gas station in the middle of nowhere. Yet, the food & service are way to good. I went for my 1st time with a friend and walked out paying $150 after spending 5 hours of drinking.... Well worth it. If you're looking for an affordable GREAT Mexican restaurant, you need to come here. Wednesday is $0.99 House Margaritas from 4pm-7:30pm. Regular price $5.50, other night Happy Hour is $3.50. You save $4.50 on Wednesday night's. I'll be back again! The food is AMAZING! The chips and Hot, Not Hot salsa are awesome! The Black Bean dip is only good warm. If you like the hot salsa, they can sell large containers,...
