Decent food, unhygienic establishment, poor service. More of a dive bar vibe.
I called beforehand to ask if the restaurant had covered outdoor seating as it was on and off raining and we had a dog. The women who answered, who I believe is the bartender as she was the one answering the phones when we eventually ate at the bar, answered with unnecessary sass.
It was a Saturday evening; they were moderately busy. We had to wipe down the bar ourselves since it was so messy. The couple that came in after us had to do the same.
As we were waiting to be served, we witnessed the bartender be standoffish to a woman who was picking up a large to go order. The kitchen missed part of the order and the bartender was rather rude, acted like it was a major hinderance to correct the mistake the kitchen made. Didn’t apologize or anything.
I had a beer, my mom had a “margarita”. I put that in quotations because they don’t serve liquor. They serve wine based liquors, which must be a work around to avoid having to get an actually liquor license. Awful drink. She had two sips and couldn’t stomach it anymore. Tasted like straight sour mix.
Our food was decent. I got the combination platter with blackened mahi and grilled shrimp. Mahi was dry. Grilled shrimp was good. Sweet potato fries were okay, nothing special. Plastic utensils. My moms food, alligator gumbo and lobster quesadilla, was okay. Alligator gumbo didn’t come with rice, as shown in original picture. Lobster quesadilla had maybe 4 pieces of lobster in it. My mom ordered the loaded fries instead; hard to mess up fries covered in cheese and bacon. Nothing special there.
During my meal I placed my empty water cup by the edge of the bar for a refill. After 10 minutes I finally had to ask the bartender directly for a refill; should be a common sense thing to refill and empty water cup in the middle of someone’s meal. She grabbed my cup by sticking her finger directly into my cup. Disgusting.
Wouldn’t come back. With how gross the bar was and the hygiene habits of the staff directly in front of me, I don’t want to know what goes on behind closed doors. I know it’s a dive bar, but it doesn’t have to be unhygienic or...
Read moreThe only reason for them getting 1 star and not 0 was we had a good waitress. I would just like to say I visited your establishment today while on vacation at Navarre Beach. My husband myself and out grandson sat down and our waitress immediately came over to get our drink order and ask if we needed more time to look at the menu. The family in the tall table next to us were sitting there fanning themselves from the heat and told us that no one had even acknowledged them yet. This place was not busy what so ever. Our waitress then returned with our drinks and took our order. Meanwhile the people next to us had still not been acknowledged. One of the adults, frustrated and hot (they had fans that weren’t even running) went up to the bar where the bar maid and another waitress(their waitress) were just standing there talking. She let them know that they had been patiently waiting while the table beside them had already gotten their drinks and had ordered. They hadn’t even been acknowledge. The waitress came back with .’,”well I’ll be with you shortly, we are busy (NOT) right now. The lady came back to the table fussing about their service and still sat another minute or so then left saying loudly that was the worst service she’d ever received and she would be leaving a bad review! We just sat there while the waitresses were making snide remarks about them. Their waitress then called them rude and loudly said she was about to tell the to leave anyway. They were all laughing and it bothered me! When that waitress made eye contact with me I spoke and said, “ That was my family!” She smirked at me and just said “Oh, well! She shouldn’t have been rude.” I then told my husband to go up and pay for our drinks and tell them to cancel our order. I Gathered my grandson and we left!! If a person hates their job and shows no hospitality to the patrons of the establishment they should quit. I would not put up with an employee talking about customers like that after they left the building....
Read moreOur breakfast experience on Tuesday 6/15 was MUCH BETTER than our dinner experience last night. Breakfast: we were sat and serviced quickly. The food was great, LOVED the biscuits!!! Our waitress was an older lady and was very efficient and was super nice. Based off this experience is why we went to dinner there last night. Dinner: We were sat and multiple tables were sat after us. Those tables were serviced, without anyone even talking to us. We had to ask the hostess who our server was, she didn't know and looked confused. We were finally serviced but it was extremely slow and we had to ask for refills and where our appetizer was.... food was slow to come out.. I know dinner was busier so we didn't worry about the food but drinks should have been refilled with having to ask.. Also, while we are accepting of dog friendly places, there were 2 dogs that continually barked and sounded like they were fighting on the porch. My son is blind and he usually brings his service dog with us when we go out to eat, we are glad we did not last night because the dogs that were NOT well behaved would have made my sons service dog not be able to perform her job for my son and would have stressed her out with their constant barking and snarling. Maybe limit the dogs to well behaved and make the ones barking have to leave, especially as ill behaved as those were last night. The food was OK last night, not near as good as the breakfast food was previously. So go for breakfast!! Go for Dinner if you aren't in a rush and don't...
