Last night we wanted to go to Village Inn for dinner but we didn’t realize they closed at 9pm so we tried our hand at Dennys instead. After the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a Dennys we ended up leaving without even getting our food. Tonight we really wanted to get Village Inn so we made sure it happened and it was so amazing and mind blowing that I cant believe we ever tried to go to Dennys instead.
From the second we walked in we were greeted by the host and immediately sat (unlike Dennys where we waited nearly 10 minutes just to be acknowledged). Our server Blythe was sweet and very quick, she immediately grabbed our drinks and was very personable (unlike our server at Dennys who randomly started personal conversation). Blythe took our order and the food was put in maybe 15-20 minutes and on our table (we waited almost an hour at Dennys for food in a restaurant that had maybe five tables). Not only was the server so kind and wonderful but the FOOD. Oh my god the food! I personally love diner food, always have, but this was somehow on another level. My boyfriend and I shared our meals The Rueben and The Country Fried Steak Skillet with side of Pancakes. The sandwich was so good I must have eaten it in just a few minutes and the fries were amazing. I’ve never had diner fries so good in my life. The Country Fried Skillet was delicious and really hit the spot. The pancakes were so fluffy and I’m not one to typically enjoy pancakes because they usually end up fairly dense. Between the atmosphere, the food, and the service I was truly blown away by how amazing a little chain diner could truly be especially in comparison to their main competition. It was literally no contest, I mean even if the food hadn’t been good they still would have blown Dennys out of the water with the care and service that Village Inn provided. We’re glad to hear you’ll be moving into the plaza near Crumbl Cookies, it’s just a tad closer to us and we’re looking forward to the new patio seating that will...
Read moreI used to love this restaurant, but the staff has all changed and now it's horrible. We were seated quickly and were able to order in a timely fashion, but we waited forever for our food when they weren't busy at all. The waitress brought our food and my feancé's order was wrong, but since it was still a hamburger we didn't realize until our receipt came and it was more expensive than it was supposed to be. Throughout our meal our waitress was a bit rude as well, so at this point we were very displeased. We brought our problem with the receipt up with the women we pay with, someone other than the waitress, and she went to go get her manager. The manager, Paula, was rude and dismissive and had a completely bad attitude. She was actually reminding me of my five year old niece. She did fix our bill, but then she waved us off after that like she was pawning us off on someone else. After we paid we found her again and told her that we didn't appreciate her attitude towards us and her response was that she didn't know how to use the register and that's why she left (How dose a manager not know how to use their own systems?). We told her that was fine, but she didn't need to treat us the way she did and her response was that we ate the food so we should pay for it and that the waitress said that not only did my feancé order the other hamburger, but I said so too, so that's why she was being that way and then she threw is a Merry Christmas as we were leaving as if that would help. I did not say anything about my feancé's order other than that the tomato needs to be on the side and the fries needed low salt, which they messed up anyway, because he always forgets to add that and it really bothers me that the manager would take the waitress's word as absolute fact anyway. I haven't called the corporate office yet, but that's...
Read moreI stopped here, to pick up two orders for delivery. I waited behind those in line. When it came my turn, I greeted the woman with a chipper "Good morning", and I began to explain why I was there. She took an abrasive tone, to inform me that no orders were ready. I didn't mind waiting, I even offered my seat to one of the older customers to sit in. After several minutes, I notice others coming and going, while I'm patiently waiting, with 2 thermal bags, and a cold pack hanging on my shoulder. I stand to investigate, and approach a register with another worker there. I see orders behind the register, and two of them were the ones I had been waiting for. I asked if she was a manager. She acknowledged, with a yes. I simply tried to explain my experience to her, and bring attention to the customers food that has been sitting and getting cold. The manager didn't give me respect, or dignity as a person. I felt quite disrespected actually. 😤 If it had not been two orders, I would have canceled. This driver will not be back. By the way, get better lids, or tape for the lids. Even though the third employee helped secure it in a bag, and it was secured secured in thermal drink pack with ice blankets to stabilize the cup. The tea still managed to escape the lid. Enough to form a small puddle in the bottom of the bag. If you don't want to afford the expense of better 'to-go' packaging for delivery, then maybe... idk try not filling it quite too the brim. Then, you wouldn't have that excess tea in the bottom of the bag, or a driver's car, for the unprepared. I won't pickup here again, but I hope the review helps someone. The food and pies are still fabulous. Thanks you for the unpleasant experience today. I hope you have a nice...
